This week's #DigitalPrinciple tells us to use evidence to improve outcomes. 🔎 If we continue to gather evidence throughout the lifecycle of an initiative, we can reduce harmful impacts and increase positive outcomes. Over time, good practices in understanding how best to evaluate technology initiatives have evolved to emphasize outcomes for people and communities. Metrics on access and usage are not enough to determine whether an initiative is having a net positive impact. What does access and usage actually unlock or enable for users? And at what cost? To understand these impacts and outcomes, it is necessary to continually gather, analyze, and use feedback - using both technology-enabled and analog methods. This information can then feed into an agile or iterative design approach through which digital policies, systems, and solutions are continually updated and improved. We recently explored this topic with our Digital Donors Exchange #DDX community of practice - read the insights here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dw23AQNy Explore the rest of the #PrinciplesforDigitalDevelopment @ digitalprinciples.org

If you have a couple of minutes spare, this survey is well worth doing.
🎓 3 minute research study! My Masters research explores public perceptions of people radicalised online. The survey asks you to read one short non-graphic scenario and answer 10 questions giving your opinion - it only takes a few minutes! Open to everyone over the age of 18 (from any country) and fully anonymous. In 48 hours, responses have come from people resident in 22 different countries, highlighting the global reach of the internet and the relevance of research to understand the role of online spaces in radicalisation processes. Your time to participate or share this post further would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance
