U.S. Voting Rights Reminder: U.S. voting allows for a write-in candidate. If you want to vote Republican, you can write in any respectful Republican. My humble request: spare us from a candidate whose primary legal reform agenda is getting rid of his own criminal charges. There are plenty of law abiding REAL Conservative and Moderate Republicans who don't spend time insulting everyone, are fair minded in civic governance AND great business leaders who are not afraid to publicly disclose their medical + tax records. https://lnkd.in/dk7SAnQe

Happy Anniversary Dear Voting Rights Act of 1964, I am happy and privileged that God allowed me to have life 5 years after you became law. My life is significantly better because of the rights I have enjoyed from you my entire life. I am sadden to think you would never become law if you came up for passage today. Today's politicians would say this bill is too controversial for the whole country to become subjected by one law. Instead, each state needs to decide if they want to grant its residents these rights. When you hear any politician say this what this means is they don't want the bill to come to law. They are hoping through gerrymandering and voter suppression that these type of ballot issues never become law. Think about it, is it not easier for Congress to pass a law even by one vote, instead of letting 50 states and thousands of local voter boards give out rights. However, there is a solution vote. Our voter partication needs to be 75 %. Thanks for listening. https://lnkd.in/gvneuQYt

In a column for the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, I explore a key takeaway from the recent election: nearly half of voters across the country said the future of democracy was their most important voting concern. This underscores how deeply people value a system that is fair, just, and resilient, even in challenging times. As lawyers, we play a critical role in turning democratic principles into practice. Our expertise in the law and unwavering commitment to justice ensure that democracy remains not just an ideal but a functioning reality. I invite you to read my column and join the conversation about the vital contributions of legal professionals in shaping and safeguarding our democracy. https://lnkd.in/dpX8WU2U

The 'big lie' for the 2024 elections was MAGA concealing the "Big Truth" that Trump was confirmed last March 2024 of being an insurrectionist and disqualified from becoming POTUS on January 20 2025 by the US Supreme Court in its Trump v Anderson decision that Trump is an insurrectionist who engaged in and supported the Jan 6 Insurrection and therefore, disqualified under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of our Constitution to ever hold another public office unless Congress lifts the disqualification by a 2/3rd's vote. SCOTUS affirmed last March 2024 the Colorado Supreme Court ruling: (1) Jan 6 was an insurrection and (2) POTUS-elect Trump did engage in and supported that insurrection. The US Supreme Court agreed with the State of Colorado that Trump is NOW and presently disqualified by our federal Constitution from holding ANY public office and has been so disqualified from becoming POTUS-elect for over one year and remains so unless 2/3rd's of Congress lifts the disqualification. The US Supreme Court also agreed that the 50 individual states were free to enforce this disqualification from holding another public office against Trump and others like him for their state and lower offices But only the federal Congress can enforce the disqualification for federal offices We the People await our federal Congress to enforce our Constitution against this POTUS-elect on January 6, 2025 and disqualify him before January 20, 2025 from ever holding another federal office just like the states have already done and were permitted to do by the US Supreme Court for their state offices. WHY DID MAGA NEVER TELL ANYONE ABOUT THIS BEFORE PEOPLE VOTED? AND BLACKED OUT ANY BILLIONAIRE OWNED NATIONAL MEDIA COVERAGE ABOUT IT FOR THE PAST YEAR?

More voters are becoming concerned with Supreme Court actions. Although there is almost no chance for the House to impeach any Republican or conservative official prior to the general election, the question of impeachment and potential removal of certain individuals is definitely a meaningful issue for the election. If given a mandate for change by a general election, Democrats could make substantial change in the way our democracy works. On the converse, a major loss by the Democrats and even a loss by President Biden could have an adverse effect on democracy itself. #ussupremecourt #justicesystem #impeachment #elections2024 #balanceofpower #bidenharrisadministration https://lnkd.in/eXJjnMMc

With President Biden off the ballot, we’re resharing the article that Steve Roberts and Nicole Kelly wrote on the legal process to replace him under #DNC delegate rules and state ballot access laws. Our team was the first to share the legal ways the #Democrats could oust and swap out their nominee. #Election2024 #PoliticalLaw #ElectionLaw https://lnkd.in/eiYe3mzU

Deep dive: Courts started shaping the US presidential race long before Nov. 5. An extraordinary onslaught of cases filed over the past two years have questioned fundamental principles of who can vote, how ballots are cast, which votes count, and how the winner is decided. And they preview issues that could fuel the expected wave of legal action after polls close. https://lnkd.in/gccMDYTm

INTERESTING NEW WRINKLE FOR DEMOCRACY: Kansas voters have no fundamental constitutional right to vote, Supreme Court rules https://lnkd.in/gyXbz25e We can anticipate that this will definitely become a trend...

As election day approaches, voters should beware of constitutional amendments placed on the ballot by special interests. These initiatives receive little more than perfunctory vetting, contain confusing language, lack necessary definitions, lead to unnecessary litigation and invariably have unintended results. Voters should carefully scrutinize proposed language on the ballot.
