It is great to see more projects like this come to fruition. Taking reliable, locally produced natural gas and creating local power is the most effective and efficient way to keep the lights on! These local projects directly impact the Williston Basin, by ensuring there is a steady need for the produced gas, thus reducing wasteful flaring.

On Monday, the Basin Electric Power Cooperative initiated a new power generation project in the expanding northwest region of North Dakota with a groundbreaking ceremony. The project, known as the Pioneer Generation Station Phase IV, is set to be the state’s largest single-site electricity generation project in many years, producing approximately 580 megawatts of electricity from natural gas. Construction commenced in March and it is anticipated to be operational by 2026. The new station will be located in proximity to the cooperative’s existing Pioneer Generation Station near Williston. Upon completion, the combined output of these facilities will exceed 800 megawatts. #naturalgas #domesticenergy #infrastructuredevelopment
