Road Safety Week It’s #RoadSafetyWeek! Every year, more than 1700 people die on UK roads with another 30,000-receiving life-changing injuries. While we’ve made much progress over the years through improved driver training, enhanced compliance, and embracing technology such as vehicle safety cameras, there’s still a long way to go This week, road safety charity Brake is highlighting the personal stories behind the statistics, advocating for the highest standard of care and support for every road victim. Every year, more than 1700 people die on UK roads with another 30,000 receiving serious, life-changing injuries. That's why we're backing Brake, the road safety charity's Road Safety Week. The annual campaign, this year running from 17-23 November, is an important opportunity and reminder to reflect on the significance of safe driving practices for everyone who uses our roads. And with wintry weather making such a drastic entrance this week, and 10% of all motorists saying they've had driving incidents in the ice and snow, remember to keep these RAC recommended essentials in your vehicle: - Ice scraper and de-icer - Torch - In-car phone charger - Warm clothing - Hi visibility jacket or vest - Jump leads - Empty fuel can - Food and drink - Shovel - Warning triangle - Sunglasses #RoadSafetyWeek #Drivesafe #RoadSafety

This week is #RoadSafetyWeek, a national initiative from @Brake, the road safety charity. This year's aim is to raise awareness about the devastating toll of road crashes, and celebrate the work of the incredible people who support families after a road death or serious injury. Did you know that a high rate of fatal accidents take place on rural roads, despite drivers rarely exceeding these roads’ legal speed limit? While it is important to enforce, low instances of speeding amongst a fleet is not always a sure-fire indicator of safe driving. That is why we developed a database called SafeSpeed. Our software analyses a staggering 30 million data points from Quartix-tracked vehicles every day, and then matches this speed data with UK road segments. From this we can calculate the speed most road users are actually travelling on each road segment and use this as a speed safety benchmark. If you want to learn about how we can support your fleet of vehicles, no matter the size, click here to learn more and get a free quote - https://lnkd.in/eqdCmzDy #RoadSafetyWeek #Quartix #Fleetmanagement #roadsafety #fleetsafety

An interesting statistic from last year, but perhaps not one that is overly surprising 🚨💭 As it's Road Safety Week, what better time to stress the importance of sticking to the speed limit not just on motorways and dual carriageways, but on single track roads to ensure the safety of pedestrians and other road users 🚗 As per Brake, the road safety charity, every year, more than 1700 people die on UK roads and another 30,000 receive serious, life-changing injuries From a fleet management perspective, risk assessments and driver training through our partner Applied Driving could be suited to your drivers to help tackle issues to minimise and reduce risk within your fleet ✅ Get in touch to learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/dDEAGkG #RoadSafety #SpeedAwareness #RoadRisk

This week is #RoadSafetyWeek, created by Brake – the road safety charity. Every year, 30,000 people receive serious and life-changing injuries from accidents on UK roads and more than a third of UK road deaths involve someone who was driving for work. Here are some ways that employers can encourage their team members to drive safely for work: - Provide training on safe driving practices - Create a safe driving policy - Ensure team members driving for work have hands-free kits and any other tech that will help them whilst on the road - Ensure that time between meetings or appointments are well thought out to avoid rushing - Reduce unnecessary trips by using virtual meetings or car sharing - Consider a pool car to be used for work that is well maintained - Consider walk to work or cycle to work schemes Our Personal Injury Lawyers at Barker Booth & Eastwood can help drivers, passengers, cyclists and pedestrians who have been injured in a road traffic accident. https://bit.ly/45SPsJO #RoadTrafficAccidents #AccidentClaim #InjuryLawyer
