What is your opinion on the potential decision by Royal Mail to stop Saturday deliveries of second-class letters? At Stannp.com Direct Mail Platform. we fully support this move. It's essential for Royal Mail to remain a profitable organisation to secure its long-term future. This change would have minimal impact on consumers but could lead to significant savings in their cost structure! https://lnkd.in/eCdscmEr

Founder of WelcoMe. Empowering disabled people AND service teams by reducing anxiety and increasing confidence in their face to face interactions. #NationalDiversityAward Winner #DiversityPowerList top 50 #ABISurvivor
Currys plc is rolling out WelcoMe to another region*. This is a phenomenal opportunity to prove that it is possible to provide personalised customer serivce to disabled consumers, and also that there is still very much a place for face to face, expert led advice, prior to a purchase. ..but WelcoMe is so much more.. I don’t want to get too grand and visionary about this but from day one I have considered and developed WelcoMe to have the potential and capability to deliver actual societal change. Proof that this was happening was highlighted to me yesterday during a Currys training session, when one of the team managers, already using the platform, said: “It isnt just the case of that customer who comes in, it helps you in your daily life as well. There’s going to be things in there where, you might know relatives or friends living with these conditons, things you’ve never really thought about, and it resonates”. Every day working at The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association this is what I wanted.. Yes, to help the person I was training but also the people around them, and in turn, the people around them. A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by a member of staff at another of our venues where they had been prompted to watch an #Epilepsy first aid video the morning of a WelcoMe visit. “A member of my family suffered a seizure a week after that visit. I knew what to do because of our use of WelcoMe.” #GooseBumps.. ..and this isnt the feeling you get when you’ve delivered staff training in the knowledge that the information provided will eventually degrade and dissapear. This is the feeling you get when an actual ‘process’ is in place that means the venue will ALWAYS have timely access to the information they need when they need it most. There is still much to do, and despite working hard to achive it, I probably wont see full engagement with ‘proximity based’ disability awareness during my lifetime, but WelcoMe is available in more and more venues across the UK and Republic of Ireland across ALL sectors so the journey is well underway. In the words of John, my very first Business Gateway advisor.. “It’s irresistable” Thank you for your support and to all the company’s who have recently joined us from Retail, Hospitality, Tourism, the NHS and Travel. YOU ROCK.. More info on WelcoMe and how to get on board can be found below at Wel-co.me .gavin. CEO/Founder WelcoMe. *Currys launch is planned on the 8th July. Watch this space to find out where and please do get involved. #RethinkRetail with #Tech4Good and be the #inspiration to deliver #Access4All through #SocietalChange.

Second class letter deliveries on Saturdays could be cut Royal Mail could be allowed to end the delivery of second class letters on Saturdays, as part of reforms being considered by the regulator. Ofcom is also investigating whether to allow second class deliveries to be made on alternate weekdays, which could help cut costs for Royal Mail. The regulator has been reviewing the Universal Service Obligation (USO) under which Royal Mail is required by law to deliver letters six days a week and parcels five days a week. The number of letters sent through the post has been falling steadily for years while parcels volumes have grown, leading to millions of pounds in losses at Royal Mail. Royal Mail's owner, International Distribution Services (IDS), said that “change cannot come soon enough”. It had proposed axing second class mail on Saturdays as well alternate weekday deliveries - both of which options are now being examined by Ofcom. In theory, it would mean second class deliveries being made on Monday, Wednesday and Friday one week then Tuesdays and Thursdays the following week. Ofcom said no final decision had been made and it continues to review the possible changes. It aims to publish a consultation early next year and make a decision in the summer. https://lnkd.in/eVxkh2SQ

TGIF – Early Fridays One of the positive things that came out of the Covid period was early Fridays. It started as a way for the staff to get supplies, like toilet paper, when the stores had shorter lines. We work a 6 hour day on Friday. Manufacturing leaves at 1pm and the office at 2pm. We work 8.5 hour days Monday through Thursday. This schedule was temporary at first, but turned into something we all liked and is our permanent schedule. Somehow it makes the weekends feel longer. Many of us go to appointments and run errands on Friday afternoon, leaving Saturday to get up and start a project and not waste Saturday morning running all over town. Our initial concerns were: What would customers think? And what about the times we need to work a Saturday? Customers have been supportive and have adapted without issue. Saturdays, which are not common, are just like when we worked them before, get in, get done. Happy Friday #thinbit #manufacturing

Thanks to feedback from our customers, we have a better understanding of what could help them to feel safer in their home. Here are some of the actions we’ve taken so far to help: 🟣 reworking the information we have available on anti-social behaviour (ASB) 🟣 employed an extra contractor to help make door entry system repairs quicker 🟣 developed a ‘Good Neighbour Guide’ to help prevent ASB issues 🏡 View the other actions we're taking to make sure customers feel safe: https://lnkd.in/eTTmcvkg

Absolutely! Understanding your customers' diverse needs and perspectives is crucial for any successful business strategy. It's not just about having a good plan; it's about tailoring that plan to meet the specific needs of each individual who interacts with your service. This story vividly illustrates how different people can have unique questions and priorities, even when faced with the same service offering. It underscores the importance of listening to and empathizing with your customers to provide solutions that truly resonate with them. By focusing on the real people who engage with your business daily, you can adapt and refine your approach to deliver value in ways that matter most to your customers. This customer-centric mindset is key to bridging the gap between a good plan and actual success.
Understanding how things change in different areas—like the environment, culture, economy, and society—is very important. It can help make the difference between just having a good plan and actually making it work. I remember being at an event once where I was in charge of a booth by myself(for a few minutes before the actual people responsible were there). People came up to me asking about the same service, but they all wanted to know different things. One person wanted to know what they would get if they paid 1000 pula every month. Another asked if they could pay for 24 months if they got 100K. Someone else wanted to know how long they would have to pay if they could only pay 500 pula a month for a 50K service. Even though the service was the same, what they wanted to know was different because of who they were and what they needed. This shows how important it is to think about the people who use your service. You can't just make up an idea of who your customer is. You have to pay attention to the real people who come to you every day, and see how they are different. This way, you can give them what they really need.
