We are proud to kickstart 2025 with a brand new collaboration with independent craft brewery SALT. Introducing the arrival of Alpacalypse, a brand new session IPA inspired by SALT's hometown of Saltaire and its rich textile heritage. The launch of Alpacalypse is the first time SALT has partnered with Molson Coors on brewing as well as distribution, taking our long-standing relationship to the next level. Uniting SALT's craft beer expertise with Molson Coors’ brewing and distribution capabilities to help it reach more consumers through pubs and bars across the country, this is set to be an exciting collaboration between the two brewers. Hannah Norbury, our Western Europe Marketing Director, and SALT founder, Jamie Lawson shared the full story with The Morning Advertiser. https://lnkd.in/ehpbXcFD

Baltimore’s reputation as a natural place to celebrate has been supported by the fact that it has been home to over 100 large-scale breweries since the mid-18th century. While there are multiple craft breweries plying their craft today, none are at the scale of times past. For example, the J.F. Weissner & Sons Brewing Company housed a 10,000-bushel grain elevator in its central tower at 1700 North Gay Street, with an annual output that reached 110,000 barrels of beer by 1919, earning it the title as one of the highest-volume breweries in Maryland. The company didn’t survive Prohibition in the 20s and was sold to a succession of beverage companies until 1973, when it closed for decades, despite being list on the National Register of Historic Places. Renovations helmed by Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse, and aided by Gotham Development LLC in partnership with Baltimore City, brought the building back into service in 2009. Today it is the headquarters for social services agency Humanim. #TBT

We are a couple of brewers who dealt with first-hand, the effects of over-contracting hops. Contracting is an essential function of the hop market, but what happens when it goes wrong? There is only so much hop companies and breweries can do (how many specials can one brewery make 😅) So we set up Brewing Trade a platform where you can buy and sell brand new surplus hops with each other. We have amassed 500 brewers who feel exactly the same as we did, and want to find their hop freedom in only 7 months. Our journey is JUST beginning. Be a part of one of the fastest-growing trends in the brewing industry and join 500+ other breweries that are fighting rising costs and feeling total freedom. According to the national Brewers Association, 2024 was the first time year in nearly two decades when the U.S. saw more craft breweries close than open. David Sobel, who owns Sobel's Obscure Brewery in Jeannette with his daughter Jackie, said the craft beer market was getting saturated. “There are just so many opening up,” he said. “There’s not a big enough market share to support it all." https://lnkd.in/gP75aMuA
