🔑 Resume Tip: Having your resume updated before any application is an absolute must! I received an email from a candidate this week: 📝 "Hi, I applied for your Forklift Operator role, but I received a rejection email almost immediately." After reviewing their application and seeing zero mention of a forklift ticket, let alone any experience—even in an adjacent field—I asked: ❓ "Do you have a current forklift license?" Their response: ✅ "Yes." My advice: "It might help to at least mention 'forklift' somewhere on your CV when applying for a forklift operator role!" Always ensure your resume reflects the role you're aiming for and shows your most accurate job history, highlighting key skills & experience for jobs your are applying for. #JobApplicant #CVTips #CareerAdvice #ResumeReady

My first job on my first ship was to clean the decks In 1994, I joined my first ship as a cadet. I was very excited. I was travelling abroad for the first time The day I landed on the ship, I was given a mop to clean floors I felt horrible and confused. I had trained so hard and joined one of best shipping companies to do what - mop floors? What will my family think? What will I tell them when they ask what I do? But I had no choice. I couldn’t go back home, so I reluctantly started working But that became a daily routine - cleaning decks, painting, repair jobs All physically exhausting work. The worst was cleaning engine room bilges, filled with dirty oil, grease etc I remained confused Then one fine day, my Captain explained me the concept of “Dignity of Labour” which essentially meant: No job is big or small When you do a job yourself, you realize how tough it is. You then have respect for people who do it It was such an important lesson which changed my outlook towards work and life So no matter where you are, how successful you are: Always remain grounded Don’t be afraid to roll-up your sleeves and get your hands dirty if needed Lead your crew with respect and empathy #leadership #careers

Todays Job market: Human resources: Looking for a Caterpillar. Must have 5 years of expierience as a butterfly. And at least a Masters degree. This will be an Unpaid position. Thank fuck I scored a job in Welding for next week. Human resources is a Tick on society’s tits and I hope the day they figure out humans aren’t a resource will be the day we stop using this excuse of an Position.
