This week, the Biden-Harris administration announced a series of proposals to restore accountability to the U.S. Supreme Court, including 18-year term limits for justices and a binding and enforceable code of conduct. This momentum cannot be lost. Action to hold billionaire-backed judges on the Supreme Court accountable is necessary to safeguard the court's critical role for democracy, reinstitute trust in the Supreme Court, and protect the interests of everyday Americans.  We need 18-year term limits implemented now. Tell Congress:

President Joe Biden is not running for reelection but is still planning major reforms to the Supreme Court. This move, reported by The Washington Post, includes establishing term limits and an enforceable code of ethics for the justices. Additionally, Biden is contemplating a constitutional amendment to counter the Supreme Court's recent decision granting presidents broad immunity from prosecution. Biden's proposals aim to bring much-needed changes to the Court that align with broader public sentiment. Recent polls indicate strong support for SCOTUS reform, including term limits and ethical standards for justices, reflecting the public’s clear demand for accountability and integrity in the Supreme Court. An enforceable code of ethics, particularly, has garnered widespread approval, with 77% of likely voters favoring it. While President Biden is still in office, Senate leaders should seize this moment to champion these reforms and push for immediate action against corruption. Let’s demand accountability and integrity in our highest court.

Obviously this MSNBC reporter, along with most other Liberal reporters, somehow forgets all about the Constitution when praying upon the emotions of the ill-informed. The Forefathers knew that this kind of rhetoric was really the problem of our governance system. Thus, these very wise men came up with the three branches of government, where checks and balances were bestowed upon each branch so that there was always a way to avoid corruption that would turn us into another banana republic. Without this vastly critical component of 'checks and balances', I doubt very much that the U.S. would be the superpower it is today. People that don't live here, and even a lot of people that do, don't understand why this pillar of our government is why it is so successful, and why most people in the world want to come to America. The press may not lead you to believe this is the case, but in that case, the media does not really have the same degree of "checks and balances" as our government. Maybe that's what REALLY needs to be worked on!!

The Public Service Amendment Bill makes a clear distinction between the powers of elected officials, such as Ministers, and professional public servants, such as Directors-General or Heads of Department. The elected officials, legally defined as the Executive Authority, provides strategic and political direction, while heads of department are granted full administrative powers to run their departments. This clear delineation of powers will make for a more professional and efficient public service. Gad Saad; In order to preserve democracy, we must: 1) engage in sham impeachments 2) suppress relevant information (Hunter's laptop highlighting orgiastic Biden corruption) 3) seek to stack the Supreme Court 4) change the Electoral College rules 5) allow ILLEGAL immigrants to vote 6) refuse voter IDs because these are racist 7) create a fake January 6 insurrection narrative where people have been imprisoned as though they were Genghis Khan 8) engage in astoundingly corrupt lawfare in order to ensure that the GOP candidate is mired in endless legal proceedings 9) have state officials seek to remove the GOP candidate from the ballot box 10) engage in very dubious electoral procedures that permit for orgiastic cheating (many countries only allow same-day in-person voting) Each of the latter (and there are many others) are an utter violation of democratic ideals. But we must engage in them in order to save democracy.

In this week's opinion editorial: Too often politicians find themselves in situations of cronyism, nepotism, and conflicts of interest. Even when acting in the best of interests, Jamaicans cannot be convinced otherwise that these are not cases of corruption, once a politician involved. Additionally, the media, civil society, and integrity groups will stop at nothing to push a certain agenda. Therefore, there is no room for politicians to mess up. And as the parties prepare for local government election, Holness cannot allow the bad apples in his Government to cause his political capital to devalue, if he wants to remain in Government.
