CME Group, the world's largest futures exchange, is reportedly planning to launch spot Bitcoin trading on its EBS currency trading venue in Switzerland. While the plan is yet to be finalized, CME has already held discussions with traders interested in buying and selling cryptocurrency on a regulated marketplace. The launch of spot trading for the top crypto asset will make it easier for investors to place basis trades. Some are skeptical about the derivatives giant operating its Bitcoin trading business across two markets. Spot Ethereum ETFs to Begin Trading Tomorrow Following SEC Approval 👨⚖️ The SEC has given final approval for spot Ethereum ETFs, allowing them to start trading as soon as Tuesday, July 23. This follows an initial approval in May and recent updates from fund providers. Major firms like BlackRock, Fidelity, and Grayscale are set to launch these ETFs. This approval comes six months after the launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs, which have already seen significant inflows. Franklin Templeton has submitted a #proposal to the #SEC for a #Bitcoin & #Ethereum #CryptoIndexETF, offering #investors exposure to both major #cryptocurrencies in one #indexfund. Managed by #FranklinTempleton, the #ETF would include Bitcoin, Ethereum, cash, and short-term instruments, with #digitalassets managed Coinbase Custody and oversight from BNY Mellon.
