New York Community Bank faces challenges with a 7% loss in deposits over the past month. Despite turbulence, a resilient strategy emerges as they secure a $1 billion+ capital injection led by Liberty Strategic Capital, spearheaded by former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. In an investor presentation linked to the capital raise, NYCB disclosed a decrease in deposits from $83 billion (Feb. 5) to $77.2 billion (March 5). Demonstrating adaptability, the bank makes a strategic move by adjusting its quarterly dividend, now at 1 cent per share – an 80% reduction from 5 cents.
