I just attended Project Management Institute's 2024 PMXPO, "The Future of Your Work". My favorite session was the readout of PMI's "Pulse of the Profession 2024" report. Main takeaways for me: - Organizations have shifted toward flexible, fit-for-purpose project delivery practices. It's no longer an "Agile" vs."Predictive/Waterfall" debate, but a recognition that a hybrid of both frameworks drives the best results. Knowing the best practices across these approaches allows PMs to implement a more tailored set of tools. - Research shows organizations can drive an 8.3% increase in project performance; via actualized KPI outcomes, scope creep avoidance, and a decrease in budget loss - by providing resources and supportive programs (Coaching/Mentoring, Training, Centers of Excellence, and Communities of Practice), that further enhance employees’ skills and capabilities, enabling them to adapt to different project circumstances, challenges and needs. Equipping employees with the right skills and empowering teams with flexibility can drive stronger innovation, agility, and efficiency. https://lnkd.in/gzv8pKPJ
