Latest round up of AppSec and Product Security Engineer roles. Hiring companies include 1. Cisco 2. eBay 3. New Balance For some reason the number of AppSec and Product Security Engineer openings have gone down in the last two weeks. Usually there are 100 to 150 openings every two weeks when I share but this time I see only 20+ This is just one data point and looks only at openings posted on LinkedIn. So, may not indicate a trend but I am curious. Anybody else noticed a slow down in AppSec and Prod Sec openings? #Hiring #AppSec #ProductSecurity

Hi everyone, in a time where there's a lot of talk of layoff's and no opportunities I am pleased to share that we at Juniper are actively looking for someone to help us out with some security architecture work inside our Cyber group for a 6 months duration with extension option contract opportunity. If you are interested or know someone please let me know and I'll connect you with our hiring manager immediately. This is an immediate need and it will be filled quickly for the right candidate. I don't actually have the job description and I am not the hiring manager - but here is what I understand is being looked for, so these are my words not some HR cut sheet. Let me know ok. - Deep understanding of SDLC / ADLC, standards, policies, complaince and auditing requirements. -OKRs, KPI/Goals and other measuement methods. -SBOM, SBOM VEX helpful -network and cloud equipment and product knowledge. -An understanding of FreeBSD, Yocto, Wind River, Ubuntu, RHEL, Etc., along with various tools, Tenable, Qualys, Wiz, Blackduck, Aqua, JFrog, etc. -and tooling - Atlassian, Netrise, etc. -along with knowledge of various databases, MongoDB, Snowflake and DataBricks -combined with AI/Dl/ML methods helpful. -Lastly, strong business acumen are important to have to help secure, facilitate and drive cooperative agreement and acceptance as this will be a leadership facing role with Directors and above on a regular basis. We're moving lightnight fast on this one and we do hope to have someone onboarded next week at the latest hitting the ground running. It's funded. It's happening. So please don't wonder if it's viable or not. It's getting filled immediately and the work is going on right now to get things done on these items. It's a good opportunity, or I wouldn't post it. If you're looking to hire someone to help you with managing application security, open your mind to folk with a sales or marketing background. Scalable AppSec programs are based on influence, not operations. That starts with marketing and selling. By hiring folk with a pure DevOps / SWE / Pentest background, you're focussing on the delivery of the activity, not on the awareness and adoption of it. It's a sales piece to get people to use SAST / Bug Bounty / Training / Threat Modeling / Whatever and be happy about it. Not all sales people can do AppSec. Just remember that unicorns are rarer than narwhals and Galah's are more common than either :)
