Can anyone in the 911 community analyze their agencies enforcement activities and compare it to crash data? Maybe the 911 community has some data that could be collected and studied. If you have some, let me know!
We need more and better data on police traffic stops. There is a clear link between reductions in enforcement and increases in traffic crashes in many places, but we have an incomplete picture. More data will help us better show the value of equitable enforcement in preventing crashes and saving lives. Thanks to The New York Times for their continued work to shine a light on complex and critical roadway safety issues. @Badger
I’ve GPS mapped out the wave of calls of a major crash and how it effects our calltaking stats, that looked prettty cool. Unfortunately what needs to be focused on, is a breakdown of crash reports from excel, looking at location and causing factor. Also, there’s an elephant in the room of driver’s status and demographics. Our state’s driver’s test is so watered down now and driver’s ed is so a prohibitive costs for many people, that they just wait til they’re of age to drive.
This would be an interesting project to dive into. I have a few ideas!
Not all stops are just rraffic stops some are stollen cars or even high risk warrant stops. O do agree for a normal traffic stop it should try to be done in a safe manner where it doesn't impede traffic.
Not every stop of a car is a “traffic” stop, nor done for the purposes of traffic safety.
This would be an interesting project to dive into. I have a few ideas! Brian Tegtmeyer, ENP

7moI know of a great group, called FirstWatch, they analyze 911 CAD Data and can set up triggers for anything (turning data actionable'). Suggest you reach out to Todd Stout, wouldn't hurt to ask.
