Celebrating Teamwork and Triumph: Lessons from Lewis Hamilton's Latest Victory Just watched an amazing Grand Prix performance – what a tough race in the rain! 🌧️ The Grand Prix truly shows how real teamwork produces results. It’s not just down to the driver; it's everyone else that contributes, like the pit crew, engineers, strategists, and support staff. Together, they make success possible! 🏎️💨 Seeing Lewis Hamilton navigate these challenges with determination and skill is truly inspiring. His resilience and dedication remind us that with the right support and hard work, we can achieve greatness. Like they say, there is no "I" in team. To be successful, you need to surround yourself with the right people who know more than you. As I’ve always said, it’s not me that’s successful, it’s us – the organisation. Everyone’s contribution matters. Your win is our success, and your losses are our lessons that make us stronger. As Lewis Hamilton once said, "You can knock me down, but I get up twice as strong." Let's adopt this mindset in our sales team, pushing through challenges together and coming out stronger. 🌟

We don’t all follow a linear path when becoming a successful leader. In fact, often many of the most influential leaders pivoted several times throughout their careers before they became truly successful. In this fascinating interview on The Path where LinkedIn’s CEO, Ryan Roslansky chats with Toto Wolff, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Principal and CEO, Toto Wolff reminds him that: “Skills and grit are the true currency. He has become one of the most successful F1 executives by staying adaptable while trusting his instincts.” ✨ Follow your intuition + passion ✨ P.S. What has shaped your leadership path? My fun fact to start the week: I’ve been to 5 Kentucky Derby’s. So, the first Saturday in May is a special day for me and my family. This past weekend, as we watched the horses race towards the finish line throughout the day, I was reminded of how much horse racing mirrors our professional journeys—especially when it comes to taking risks. Just like betting on a horse you think will win, we pick projects or career moves hoping they'll succeed and put our energy into them. We often don't know if it'll be worth it until the end, but regardless, the experience is always worthwhile. Here's why stepping out of our comfort zone is so crucial: 🏇🏻Innovation: Much like the surprise victory of an underdog at the Derby, great achievements in business often start with a willingness to try something new. 🏇🏻Growth: Pushing beyond what's comfortable can propel us forward, opening doors we never expected. 🏇🏻Leadership: By taking risks ourselves, we inspire our teams to embrace their own challenges, fostering a culture where daring to try is valued. Every risk might not lead to success, but each one teaches us something. Whether you're picking a Derby winner or leading a project, the biggest rewards often come from the biggest gambles. Let’s take inspiration from the Derby and be brave & bold in our careers. Who knows? Your next big win could be just around the corner.

What an F1 season it’s been! And an emotional end to an amazing team relationship. Lewis Hamilton’s incredible journey with Mercedes is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when extraordinary talent is supported by a dedicated, high-performing team. While individual brilliance often shines on the podium in F1, it’s the collective effort of a team—engineers, strategists, mechanics, and countless others behind the scenes—that truly drives success. Hamilton’s legacy, built on hard work, resilience, and passion, underscores the importance of trust, collaboration, and shared goals in achieving greatness. This story resonates far beyond motorsport. Whether it’s in business, leadership, or personal growth, the strength of a team can amplify individual potential and turn ambitious dreams into reality. Here’s to recognising and celebrating the teams around us—because no one achieves greatness alone. #Teamwork #Leadership #Collaboration #EveryDreamNeedsATeam Love you Lewis ❤️

When Toto Wolff recorded his last voice message to Lewis Hamilton, he dropped a lesson that applies to everyone. Starting a new job? Hiring someone? Building a team? This is the one thing you need to remember: “Find your people.” Not just the ones who clock in and out. Not just the ones who sign the contracts. Find the ones who: → Dream with you. → Fight for you. → Have your back and your ear. → Stand with you and kneel with you. → See you—the real you—and still believe in you. Even when you stop believing in yourself. Toto wasn’t just talking to Lewis. He was talking to all of us. So when you start that next chapter: Find your people. Everything else follows.

"The man on top of the mountain didn't fall there." Lombardi, renowned for his leadership and coaching in American football, used this metaphor to inspire individuals to recognize the value of persistent effort. The "mountain" symbolizes the ultimate success, a highly sought-after goal one aims to achieve. However, the journey to this summit is often filled with obstacles and requires overcoming various challenges. Our mission to transform the car-buying experience and revolutionize the automotive industry unfolds with each customer we serve. We are committed to moving away from traditional dealership models. Through personalized consultations, effortless test drives, and flexible financing options, we aim to redefine the car-buying experience, making it more accessible and enjoyable for everyone involved; that is the mountain we climb every day. What mountain are you climbing?

💚 If you do the same as what's gone before or the same as what others are doing, you'll never reach new heights, you'll never win. 💚 At no point can you ever think you're perfect. If I ever say, 'That's perfection,' then that's the time to kick me out the door, that's the time for me to retire. 💚 I like to use the analogy of a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle. Each person in the team is a piece of that puzzle, but they need to know exactly what their responsibilities are and what everyone else's responsibilities are. Having this organisational clarity ensures that the pieces of the puzzle fit together well with no overlaps or gaps. Any overlaps or gaps are just inefficient. Let’s talk about Lewis Hamilton and what leaders can learn from his current lacklustre season. If you follow F1 you’ll know that Sir Lewis Hamilton is undoubtedly the best driver of all time. And yet despite almost winning a record breaking 8th World Championship in 2021, he has barely sniffed a win in the past 3 years since. This has led some shortsighted pundits (yes I’m looking at you Jeremy Clarkson) to argue that Lewis has lost his touch. He should hang it up. He just isn’t that good anymore. You get the point. But here’s the thing. Winning a race is hard. Winning a World Championship is damn near impossible. It takes so much out of you. It’s so draining that Nico Rosberg won one world championship and retired immediately. It’s so tough that even the great Max Verstappen toyed with the idea of quitting soon after winning his second WC. And so it begs the question, if Lewis knows he doesn’t have a competitive car at the moment (Mercedes has failed to make a title worthy car in 36 months), is it worth expending the energy required to dominate when domination is off the table? Has he actually fallen off or is he merely practicing self preservation until he’s at a better team? The same applies in business. Often times I’ve consulted for organisations that don’t actually have a human capital problem. They have some pretty great staff on hand. But the same thing that makes that staff great is the same self awareness that this current environment might not be the best place to give it your all. As such the question for business leaders is; if you’ve done the hard work of hiring good people, have you done the necessary ancillary work of crafting an environment that’s equipped with the tools, resources and incentives to draw out their inner star? If not, you probably have a supercar on your hands that’s been set to cruise at highway speeds. Just enough to feel like you’re going somewhere but nowhere near enough to actually feel the thrill of unbridled power. Might be time to do some reflecting.

Being the weakest in the team can lead to unexpected growth and success. Recently myself and Dean Van Dyk competed in 3-day mountain bike race consisting of 280km's of riding from the mountain ranges of the Drakensberg to the coastal town of Scottburgh. I found myself under-prepared and greatly inexperienced compared to Dean but despite this I was able to push well beyond what I thought was possible. What I learnt out there on the bike over these 3 days was that self-defined expectations and limits are greatly influenced by those around us. Surrounding ourselves with individuals who expect more from us, forces us to rise to the occasion, as it pushes us to achieve levels of success we may not reach on our own. Understanding how others can influence our limits allows us to recalibrate our expectations and strive for greater achievements. Surround yourself with mentors, friends, and colleagues who challenge you to reach new heights. I will always be grateful for this experience. #PersonalGrowth #Teamwork
