Remember: 'You need to take time out to work on your business, not in your business.' Heather Matthews' Vistage UK journey is a testament to this principle. Joining Vistage initially felt daunting for Heather, taking her 2 years to finally make the leap. However, over the past 7 years, she has never looked back! Listen to her inspiring story in the video below as she shares how this investment in Little's has proven to be the most important and best decision she has ever made. Multi-Award Winning Best Practice Chair of Leadership Peer Groups @ Vistage | Developing High-Performing Leaders
I'm often asked - what do I love most about what I do? If you know me, you'll know I'm absolutely passionate about my role as a Vistage UK Chair and about my members, who I get to choose and to bring into my Groups. Around 9 years ago I met this incredible lady, who was really focused on the growth of her business. But Heather is a reflector, and thinks things through, and took a wee while to decide to join my Glasgow Group - 2 years!! Since then, she hasn't looked back. Her business has doubled in size, she has a global footprint, she's scooped most of the women's, family business and entrepreneur awards in Scotland, and I've been so grateful to have been on this journey with her. Heather outlines her journey with Vistage UK in this video, and I'm sure you'll agree, she's the embodiment of a wonderful leader, who genuinely brings others along with her. I love working with her and I love having her as a member. Thank you Heather Matthews! https://lnkd.in/eZyBZEsM

It’s been a hectic few months... As a result, you may have noticed that I’ve been MIA on here. I’m not going to glorify my busyness, which is what we often see on social media and within society. The truth of the matter is that at times I’ve found it counterproductive to wear many hats. Your focus is diluted, and you feel like you’re barely keeping your head above water. When you’re immersed in the daily tasks of driving your business forwards, it can be difficult to see the progress and the impact. At times, I can become fixated on pursuing what needs to be done rather than reflecting on the highlights and successes. Recently, THIIS Magazine did a feature article on my business to celebrate our 20-year anniversary. It made me stop in my tracks and take a moment… From a market stall in Leeds to a thriving business with plans for expansion, I allowed myself the time to acknowledge my win and the grit I’ve put in. Of course, I can’t take all the credit. I have a supportive family and dedicated team around me. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Together we’re changing lives, making a difference, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and where we are heading. Here’s the article if you’d like to read it. 👉 https://bit.ly/3AXfSPz

* edit: reposted above with pics!* Look at these incredible nests which I’m so intrigued by teetering at the top of Arco da Vila in Faro, Portugal. I love them! It got me thinking - who puts the time in male or female? I had to look it up 😂 … it’s both ! Nice one Storks 🥰 Every year, storks return to the same nest, refurbishing what’s already there, and making it stronger and better with each season. The male might gather the sticks, but it’s the female who arranges them into a home that’s safe and secure. 🥲 Neither can do it alone—each depends on the other to get the job done. As a business owner, I know this well. I might have the vision, but it’s my incredible team that turns that vision into reality. They handle the details, refine our processes, and make sure that each year, we come back stronger and better than before. Just like those storks, we’re always building, improving, and ensuring that our business stays strong and stable. I couldn’t do it without them, and I wouldn’t want to! What I love most across both of my companies, is the rewarding sense of building on the strong foundations laid down, learning invaluable lessons along the way. Each experience adds a new layer of strength, helping me to grow, evolve, and go further. Big thanks to the white storks in Portugal for making me pause and reflect just now 🪺 Gillie Atkins Carol Pull @katekettlewell Nancy Dye & Beth! As well as all the incredible Med VAs of course! #teamwork #womaninbusiness #femalefounder #growth

I’ve finally come up for air. What a ride! Earlier this month, I had the absolute privilege of joining the first-ever riders&elephants Global Gathering in stunning Queenstown, and I’m still buzzing from the experience. Here’s what made it unforgettable: 🌟 Connection: Meeting people I’ve collaborated with online for years and making new, meaningful connections. 🌟 Inspiration: Jeremy Dean and the incredible R&E community brought fresh perspectives, heart, and energy into every moment. 🌟 Learning: Diving deep into the tools we use to transform leadership, teams, and cultures. I left with powerful new resources to enhance my practice – from Beautiful Questions to Reputation to Neuro-Nudges. The energy in the room was palpable – there were laughs, tears, breakthroughs, and even a few dance moves! A highlight for me? Witnessing the power of shared emotional language and intentional culture design, which underpins everything we do as Elephant Riders. It reminded me of why I do this work and why it matters. To everyone who attended, mentored, and made this event extraordinary: thank you. My cup is full, my brain is buzzing, and my heart is all in. Now, it’s time for a little recharge (my social battery is a firefly, too!) before taking these lessons forward into the work we do. If you’ve been curious about the R&E community or tools, feel free to reach out—I’d love to share more!"

In 2019, Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) unveiled its sensory space, Presley's Place, setting the standard for travel accessibility across the United States. When PIT employee Jason Rudge noticed an opportunity for the airport to make travel easier for his autistic son and other travelers alike, CEO Christina Cassotis took action. This year marks Presley's Place's fifth anniversary, and many public places have followed suit after its inception.
