In the fire service, there's a saying that the community comes first, but this can overshadow the critical role of firefighters themselves. The truth is that firefighters are the heart and soul of any fire department. When a department prioritizes the well-being of its firefighters, it cultivates a positive atmosphere that encourages loyalty, commitment, and hard work. This dedication directly influences the quality of service provided to the community. Conversely, when firefighters are overburdened, underappreciated, or unsupported, they're prone to disengagement and resentment, leading to decreased efficiency, service quality, and morale. Valued firefighters are likelier to exceed expectations, delivering outstanding service and fostering strong community bonds.

In case you don't know, Community Association Managers are the glue that holds many communities together. Professionally dealing with situations so close to home--gently and firmly guiding Board members to the best way to comply with governing documents and the law. CAMs often help draft complicated budget proposals and are extremely organized with a million things going on at the same time. And yet somehow cheerful! Look at the smiles in the below post--these are consummate customer service professionals, serving their clients with love and a passion for excellence. Many times, CAMs spend time after hours and even sometimes on weekends--beefing up their knowledge with ongoing education, attending board and annual meetings (in person and by zoom), communicating with vendors and just generally being awesome! I remember this one time, I had a condo property that had a water heater fail 💀 in a third story unit 💀💀 in the middle of the night 💀💀💀. If that wasn't enough fun, the owner of the unit was on vacation 💀💀💀💀 and the board president called my cell phone. 💀💀💀💀💀 🔑Locksmith? Check. ✅ 🪠Plumber? Check. ✅ 💦Waterloss remediation team? Check. ✅ Disaster handled. Fortunately for many CAMs the landscape has changed and board members won't call you on your cell in the middle of the night... But middle of the night calls or not---these unsung heroes are the backbone of Condo and HOA Associations. Dealing with negativity and hurt feelings when residents take things personally, whether neighbor issues, warning notices/fines or other issues--CAMs are in a league of their own handling difficult situations with good cheer. Having my past experience in this arena makes me appreciate you so much more--YOU ARE MY HEROES!!! 👏Bravo Community Association Managers, Bravo. 👏
