I love bringing out the anger in women. Not what you think! What I mean is, many of my coachees are women in leadership positions who have mentioned their experience suppressing their anger. In sessions, we have an opportunity to explore the anger without judgement or fear of reprisal. Guess what, that anger is perfectly legitimate and can be useful in a professional setting. But women in corporate America walk on a tightrope. Anger can be labeled "too sensitive/emotional", so they end up getting silenced. During a coaching session, we can't change the entire corporate world, but we can help you navigate the shark-infested waters more adeptly. I remember when people pleasing was my BFF. At work l, in relationships and with family and friends. Here are 3 tips for women in leadership to reduce people pleasing in the work place 1. Know your why- it’s important to be aligned in the right work environment that will develop your talents not abuse them. 2. Seek support from a safe tribe- identify people who will advocate and hold you accountable for taking care of yourself. 3. Establish and set help boundaries and Keep them/ let your yes be your YES and your no be your NO. #workplacewellbeing

A recent study found that women are more likely to make friends at work than men. According to 75% of women polled, these friendships expand outside the workplace. Charley Ross explores how these relationships are advancing us as well as enriching our wellbeing in her latest for The AllBright Post. Side note: The importance of workplace friendship goes for women, men, non-binary folks -- connection is vital to thriving as humans. When I talk about women's leadership or feminine leadership, I believe it's not just about what box you check off on a demographic form (though you'll experience the impact of gendered oppression differently) and it's about the spectrum of gendered characteristics that our patriarchal society has created false good/bad and worthy/unworthy binaries around embodying no matter how you identify.
