Thinking Beyond the Box. What Does This Mean? It means that we need to encourage a shift beyond conventional limits. When we frame the problem in a manner that explicitly indicates that the person is not the issue, but rather, that the problem is an interaction with contextual factors, we empower individuals to recognize their capability and strength. People can then see themselves as agents for change with a clear description of what isn’t working and their choices for how to do something different. This sometimes seems crazy at first.
