We understand that capacity strengthening is one way to assist youth with #JobCreation. Today, online learning is an attractive option for scaling education and reaching many young people, especially girls and young women. But, there are real systemic barriers to accessing education. A recent evaluation we conducted with youth who participated in online learning revealed that young African women face several barriers to accessing and benefitting from online learning, including: 🕒 Having household duties that take up too much of their time. 💼 Societal norms that prioritise online learning for men. 📵 Limited access to devices and reliable internet. 📚 Not knowing about available resources. As the world continues to move online, we must recognise these barriers and find new ways to connect young women to online learning opportunities.
