The Earthley leadership team just finished our retreat! It was great to take two whole days to step away from the day to day and focus on long-term planning.
We did a lot: Predictive Index, Kolbe assessment (with this, we put numbers from 1 - 10 on the floor and had people stand where they fell for each metric...we learned a lot about ourselves and our team doing this), a look back at 2023 (what well, what didn't), 2024 goal setting, how to have better meetings, and more.
Everyone came away feeling great about where we're going. One team member said the goals felt way too big...until they took time in a breakout session to set smaller goals that would help us get there, and then it felt very doable.
We learned about the weaknesses our team faces...and found a way to quantify and explain what we need to do better. Departments realized who they need to hire (or promote) to round out their strengths and get projects done. We learned that perfection is the enemy of 'good enough' and it's okay to just move forward and try something! The worst that can happen is you learn something.
We also talked about employee engagement. Our hope was to have a discussion about engaging people more. What it turned into was high praise for the culture we have built. One team member said, "You're not just changing the way the world sees health care...you are changing the workplace."
I can't wait to see what we can accomplish in 2024!
