We are excited to introduce Ellie as the new Infection Preventionist at Brigham City Community Hospital. Ellie joined our team in March 2023, right before the opening of our wound clinic. With her dual roles as a Wound & Ostomy RN and now Infection Preventionist, Ellie is eager to integrate her expertise to enhance patient care and outcomes. Ellie shared her enthusiasm, saying, "I'm excited to see how the roles of wound care and infection prevention will complement each other." Join us in welcoming Ellie to her new role and wishing her success as she continues to provide exceptional care to our community. #WeShowUp #CareLikeFamily #InfectionPrevention #HCAHealthcare

Over the last 2 years there have been more than a few competitors introducing air assisted transfer devices geared toward Trendelenburg. These emerging options are nothing more than workaround technologies that sought to mimic an entire process and design utility we have been educating & selling for 8 years. It’s not like we didn’t consider these or create defensive patents to address them. We didn’t launch our versions because they have to be thoughtfully designed to reduce risk, and quite frankly, you have to design for tremendous end user misuse. We didn’t want to mimic a adaptive process. We wanted to redefine it. More importantly, these lateral assist Trendelenburg platforms aren’t really innovative at all. In fact, they are based off work around designs that mimicked what we saw hospital staff doing as far back as 10 years ago. These were adaptive DIY off label workarounds designed to protect staff’s ergonomic safety, simply because existing companies never took the time to care about the safety of those who position patients daily. Patient & provider safety should be balanced. Product design & processes are key! Existing companies chose not to change their ergonomic approach until we became a competitive threat. Sadly, the damage was already done. They succeeded in commoditizing an entire industry, forcing poor ergonomic processes, while supply chains & GPOs failed to consider the inherent patient handling processes for their staff. That’s why staff created off label workarounds. Surgical staff have been applying foam Trendelenburg pads on top of air assist devices for years, we know, because we would get called in after sentinel events, offering those hospitals a better solution. We would also see staff place sheets, trash bags, and other low friction stuff under products that relied on high friction interface, just so they could move the patient. While these emerging products may seem innovative, they are cumbersome to use because they have to add 8-10 straps to their unreinforced foam pads to overcome the impact of low friction in gravity during dependent positioning. They never understood how a reinforced pad structure is key to improving design & efficacy. It’s why our patented FPLS® platforms are innovative and adaptable to many applications. It’s why have always shown real people being positioned rather than using digital animation. Competitive products still use sheets or single wings to tuck the arms, still forcing staff to roll patients back and forth, how’s that #safepatienthandling? Furthermore, those sheets block effective skin to pad contact needed for traction & efficacy. It’s not marketing, it’s physics. And while we are still finalizing our upcoming Pneuma® platform, one that will disrupt the entire industry, Cega®’s ReMuv® platform is an outstanding upcoming option needed to improve patient handling, while also addressing infection control. Come see why we have always been the company worth imitating.
Are you coming to AORN’s 2024 Conference in Nashville March 9-12th? Please stop by booth #331. This year we will show you not only a more evolved way to position your surgical patients, we will show you a better way to handle clean to clean post op transfers to the stretcher, as we care about infection control as much as we do safe patient care & handling. Without a highly reliable process, you introduce risk and variability that can injure both patients and surgical staff. This year we will be demonstrating our upcoming Genesis Bi-Wing AAP®’s integration with CEGA Innovations® ReMuv® LP platform. Surgical positioning is not only about achieving high reliability, it’s also about how design can promote behaviors that enhance and ensure safety. Come see why the major companies have been scrambling to keep pace with this lesser-known company for the past decade. For 10 years, we have been dedicated to ensuring the safety of both patients and surgical staff. We won’t be found on your commodity GPO contract. They don’t consider staff’s ergonomic safety. We’ve been trying to convince them for years. In 2022, WHO released its first-ever Global Report on Infection Prevention and Control. Shockingly, in high-income countries, 7 out of 100 patients get at least one healthcare associated infections (HAI) during their hospital stay, while in low- and middle-income countries, it's 15 out of 100. Unfortunately, on average, 1 in every 10 affected patients doesn't make it. Because HAIs are most common in surgical patients or patients receiving long-term care, medical sterilization equipment is a key player in the battle to combat the spread of HAIs. Discover how our STERRAD™ System can help in preventing HAIs here: https://lnkd.in/dGiujUM8 #WHO #InfectionPrevention #WeAreASP

Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAIs) are more common that you would think and they add a huge burden to healthcare. We can help healthcare practitioners reduce this risk and increase their efficiency by educating them and providing the right tools and processes for an optimum sterilization of surgical equipment, which would allow them to send their patients home safely after their surgery.

As we emphasize Patient Safety Awareness Week, it is important to also highlight the significance of infection prevention strategies and the integration of Best Practice Guidelines in our hospitals. Let’s dive into how these guidelines intertwine with our mission to prevent infections and uphold patient safety. Best Practice Guidelines permeate every aspect of patient care, from routine procedures to complex interventions. Consider the meticulous placement of urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes and the management of central lines; these are not just tasks, but reflections of our dedication to patient care. The execution of Best Practice Guidelines serves as our shield against infectious concerns, whether it involves meticulous hand hygiene, stringent cleaning protocols or the use of personal protective equipment. Stay tuned for more great information from our Medical Quality team throughout Patient Safety Awareness Week! #BluePearlMedicalQuality #PatientSafetyAwarenessWeek #ElevatingVetMed

Advanced wound care is a specialized and comprehensive approach to treating complex or chronic wounds that do not heal through conventional wound care methods. These wounds often require advanced techniques, products, and medical expertise to facilitate the healing process. Some of the key components of advanced wound care include: ✔️ Wound Assessment ✔️ Debridement ✔️ Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) ✔️ Advanced Dressings ✔️ Biological Dressings ✔️ Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) ✔️ Compression Therapy ✔️ Infection Control ✔️ Patient Education ✔️ Ongoing Monitoring The goal is to promote faster and more effective wound healing, minimize complications, and improve our patient’s quality of life. #woundcare #woundspecialist #woundhealing
