One mistake you should NEVER do as an intern! During one of my internships, a came across a couple of co-interns who took their internship for granted. Neither did they take initiatives nor completed the tasks allocated! Plus, they felt frustrated and irritated whenever any work was allotted because of their lack of interest. This is a wrong approach at all times! Before sending your application, you should research in and out about the organisation you are applying to and take feedback regarding the work assigned to interns. (If it matches your skills and interests, then consider interning.) Additionally, don’t run after adding multiple internships unnecessarily, instead focus on things that will equip you with skills (such as publications, competitions, certifications, etc.) Bonus: Interning in a planned manner will only help you fetch a long term/assessment internship! Have you ever experienced such instances? PS: You can connect with me for a 1:1 call at https://lnkd.in/dS7McPyw. #lawstudents #internships #lawschool

Why is it okay for companies large and small to offer UNPAID internships ? Cost-saving maybe ? I read recently : It's important to note that the practice of offering unpaid internships has faced criticism for potentially excluding individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds who may not be able to afford to work without pay. Additionally, some argue that unpaid internships can perpetuate inequality and exploit young workers by providing free labour. Unquote Either way in this day and age people should get paid especially early in their working life . Let’s get rid of this stupid unpaid internship rubbish and let the young ones wet their beaks and have a chance to get going in their lives which has already been a slight struggle .

Patience: A Key Ingredient in Legal Internships Devanshi Parashar reminds us that whether it's securing internships, finding meaningful work during them, or adjusting to new professional environments, patience is essential. This advice resonates deeply with me as I navigate the complexities of starting a career in law. It was a great opportunity in my career to join WICCI National Legal Awareness Council . Patience not only helps us persevere through the challenges of finding and excelling in internships but also teaches us the resilience needed for a successful legal career. Let's stay patient and persistent, embracing each step of our professional journey with positivity and determination. #lawstudents #lawschool #internships #lawfirm #patienceisavirtue

April is National Internship Awareness Month, and PPR Strategies is no stranger to working with talented college interns. Internships can be one of the best ways to increase collaboration within your organization and nurture the growth of future #EconDev professionals! If you are unsure about the value interns can bring to your EDO, here are a few ways they can support your team: 📚 Research and analyze trends and policies. 📣 Assist with creating marketing content. 🤝 Help with outreach to businesses and investors. 💰 Identify grants and help with fundraising efforts. 📝 Write and edit written materials. No matter what, bringing in a fresh perspective can help you tackle workplace challenges and see new avenues to solve problems. 💡 Special shout out to our spring intern, Rachel, who has been a huge help to us this semester! #EconomicDevelopment #CollegeInternships #InternshipPrograms #HiringTips

We need to do better
Did you know? According to a study by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, only 18.1% of interns are Hispanic or Latino. Even more concerning, Hispanic students are more likely to never have an internship, and a mere 7.9% of paid internships go to Hispanic students. It's key to recognize the importance of paying interns, especially to attract students who equally need the experience and financial support. Many Latino and minority students work tirelessly to support themselves and their families through college, making paid internships not just beneficial but necessary. By offering paid internships, companies can level the playing field and provide valuable opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds to gain hands-on experience, build professional networks, and pave the way for future career success. If we work together, we can create inclusive internship programs that support and empower students of all backgrounds and bridge the gap to equal access to opportunities for the next generation of leaders. #LatinosAreTheFuture #EmpowerLatinos #Internships
