”I love nature. I just wish it wouldn't be so outdoorsy." - Dilbert, or anonymous
I’m home now, for a little while, letting the team do their thing in Patagonia.
As I stroll along the paved sidewalks in my neighborhood and among the downed trees from the recent ice storm, I'm filled with gratitude for the stark contrast between my past and present experiences. I can't help but wonder of the juxtaposition between my days in the corporate world and my current endeavors in Aysen Patagonia.
Amidst the relentless hustle of the corporate sphere, meetings were confined within sterile conference rooms surrounded by grey colored cubicles, where fluorescent lights blinded the connection to nature.
I pushed, when it was possible, that we venture outside for our discussions, often walking and talking. We almost always came back to the building feeling more refreshed. Often, we returned with new ideas, inspirations and solutions to move the business forward.
In Patagonia, outside, in nature, is a way of life. Ideas flourish without the confines of conference rooms and strict agendas, or crowds, or concrete jungles, reminding me that true creativity knows no bounds and thrives in the most unexpected places.
While the future remains uncertain, one thing is clear: nature will forever remain my steadfast companion, inspiring me to embark on a journey of building something truly remarkable, one step at a time. From my first sabbatical and each one thereafter, I found myself reflecting amongst the grandeur of Aysen Patagonia.
