This is good advice.

It always ok to take tome out to rest and be unfocused entirely. In dangerous situations, this isn't always easy or safe. In all situations though, being overwhelmed is your body letting you know that you need time or something else in that moment. Attending to your own needs in the moment and checking how you are feeling and what you might need, makes a lot of sittuations safer and is far better for your own well-being so you can make better, calmer decisions. Everyone of us functions differently and that means also understanding your own needs at any moment. Only you will ever know you're own experience and how you feel to be you in any given moment how you might be affected. Its easy to not pay attention to how we are feeling because other things and excessive amounts of information and different factors are going to affect us all differently and our needs are different at different times. Every day and throughout the course of your day, attend to yourself and in your own way, ask your self how you are thrn and enquire with yourself about yourself. This might sound funny or uncomfortable in public or unfamiliar. Its understandably that may be the case for many of us if not all of us. Thats why its important to ask ourselves because everyone else may be just as distracted and overwhelmed. Unless we can be attentive to ourselves in new ways and keep learning about your well-being or things that affect you or may be calming or pleasurable, how are we going to be able to respond to eachother when we really need one another for support. Unless we know ourselves first, how can we know eachother? learn how you feel and how things affected. We are all unique in different ways. We are our own witnesses of our divine nature and uniqueness. How is your uniqueness feeling to you to day? Are you able to practice describing how you feel differently first to yourself and then when you are ready, to another person who you already feel safe with? This is important for your own self awareness and so you can understand others too on their own terms unique to them only. We are all different. Practising this is how we can improve on our relatablebilty skills and check in with our authentic experience

It’s difficult to imagine the future when the present is so challenging. It’s also difficult to “accelerate progress” when <15% of #SDGs for 2030 are on track, and we are seeing real regress on several issues. Yet the principles of working collectively towards sustainability, for all people and a healthy planet, leaving no one behind, based on human rights, are more important than ever in my lifetime, and for the present and future of all children. So count me in a see you around the Summit and at #UNGA in September.

History is unfolding before our eyes. These are days that could define the future of our world. The United Nations is calling for a “Summit for the Future,” promising “#Multilateral_Solutions for a #Better_Tomorrow.” This vision will take shape on September 23-24, 2024, in New York City. António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the UN since January 2017, has championed this summit as “a once-in-a-generation opportunity to #reinvigorate global action, #recommit to fundamental principles, and further develop the frameworks of multilateralism so they are fit for the future.” A chance for the world, but haven’t we heard such lofty principles before? Yes, we can. But the question remains—can we? ጥያቄዬ የሀገሬ ሰዉ ግን ስለሚሆንበት ያዉቃልን?

As someone who works within the United Nations, I’ve had a unique view of Secretary-General António Guterres’s leadership. His tenure has brought a strong humanitarian focus, critical in times of growing global displacement and climate crises. His commitment to climate action has placed environmental challenges firmly on the global agenda, driving forward momentum when our world needs it most. Additionally, his drive for peace in conflict regions is a testament to his dedication to a peaceful world. However, being on the inside also provides perspective on where we, as an organization, can do better. While the Secretary-General has been a powerful advocate for UN reform, the process has been gradual, and more progress is needed to enhance the UN’s responsiveness. Managing complex global crises, including COVID-19 and recent conflicts, has tested our ability to act swiftly and effectively. Critiques on our neutrality in some of these situations highlight the need for a more balanced and strategic approach to conflict mediation. Guterres’s mandate has shown us the potential of what can be achieved through strong vision and commitment, but it also reminds us of the ongoing work needed to ensure the UN remains a responsive and trusted institution. As we move forward, these insights are essential for shaping a UN that meets the evolving challenges of our world. António Guterres #UnitedNations

The pace of reaching sustainable development goals is too slow: increased international cooperation is required. 🌿👥 On 22-23 September, the United Nations (UN) convened for the Summit of Future to discuss the future of multilateralism. In the face of wars, polarization and environmental crises, the UN aims to foster collaboration to effectively respond to emerging challenges, including the imperative to meet sustainable development goals. As a result of extensive multilateral negotiations, a non-binding “Pact for the Future” was adopted by UN member states. Among other things, the Pact aims to guide countries towards achieving the sustainable development goals by 2030. In the Summit's opening statement, the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, remarked: "We have unlocked the door. Now it is our common responsibility to walk through it. That demands not just agreement, but action. I challenge you to take that action." While the Pact is a crucial step in revitalizing the multilateral system, it needs to be met with just and transformative action.
