Lake Geneva looking beautiful this morning. It has made me think about privelege. And that made me think about Davos… As you know, the annual World Economic Forum in Davos brings together global leaders from business, politics, and civil society. While the stated mission is addressing pressing global challenges, increasingly I see how decisions made in these exclusive meetings shape policies that affect billions. All behind closed doors. All by invitation only. Consider this - in 2024, over 2,800 attendees discussed crucial topics like poverty alleviation, climate policy, and economic reforms - all in a Swiss mountain resort town where a coffee can cost $40. The disconnect is striking to me. How do we ensure democratic representation when key global policy discussions happen in invitation-only meetings based on that years “most influential” list? While the WEF has driven important initiatives like vaccine distribution and climate commitments, the growing gap between decision-makers and those impacted by their choices raises legitimate questions about global governance. Perhaps it's time to reimagine how we approach global cooperation. In an interconnected world, should we not create more inclusive forums that bring diverse voices to the table?

From the five main areas of Davos 2025, we believe that the "Rebuild trust" one is the most pressant, both for Romania and worldwide. Societal divisions have widened, geopolitics has grown increasingly multipolar, and protectionist policies are disrupting trade and investment. How can stakeholders innovate and collaborate to address challenges both globally and within their own communities? #leadersforwhatsnext #buildingtrust #amropexecutivesearch
