Sydney a century from now will be the same but different. The same easygoing people who’ve adapted to new ways of getting around. It will for a long time have been the undisputed preeminent global city in the Asia Pacific region. Fortunately, the designers of the new Sydney Metro “did a John Bradfield” in building vast new stations ready for the next century — and its technology — as well as this one. And stations that are ideal templates for the Metro of the next Millennium with new stations in Newcastle, Gosford, Wollongong, Campbelltown, Camden and Sutherland. Existing Metro tunnels will have been adapted to driverless self-levitating trains barrelling along on a magnetic beam at unbelievable speeds making existing Metro trains seem like lumbering tortoises alongside dashing hairs. Because no one will be more than half-an-hour travel time from anywhere in the Greater Greater Sydney (yes that’s a double Greater), the CBD will again be a magnet for work, retail, entertainment and dining pursuits — the things that never go out of fashion irrespective of the century. Like its counterparts in Paris, London and other great world cities, more people will be living in the centre of our wonderful city injecting vibrancy and excitement that could only be wished for in 2024. And not only will the trains run on time. They’ll run all the time 24 hours a day. Same but different — baristas will still be the heart and soul of the city making bearable the start of any working day. Only 100 years hence, your morning flat white or cap will be ready and waiting as you walk out of the Metro station in 2124. Airport deals highlight demand for urban industrial real estate - JLL Sydney’s airport land has been the focus of several investment and leasing deals as businesses leap on rare large-scale opportunities to locate close to major population hubs. Despite the successful airport deals, the outlook for Sydney’s industrial market remains mixed with flat retail trade and pressure on business margins expected to curb appetite for space, while new developments increase. Warehouse supply in Q3 2024 of 420,100 sqm reflects more than double the 10-year quarterly average, according to the JLL Sydney Industrial Market Dynamic report. “We expect the rental gap between high quality and secondary warehouses to increase as tenants either capitalise on favourable terms and opt for super-prime, ESG-aligned facilities, or choose the cheapest available option amid challenging business conditions,” according to Lauren Graham, the report’s author. It's planes and prosperity as a national initiative will be dedicating $970 million for improvements at 114 airports around the country. The largest sum, $50 million, will go to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to connect terminals and provide new retail space and additional amenities. A recent report from the Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority indicates the city has a substantial annual economic impact of $35.7 billion, a $6 billion increase from 2019. This figure equals 29% of the countywide GDP and 9% of South Florida’s output, further supporting the conclusion its profitability is on a steady rise.

THE LANDING : It involves the purchase of long-term lease rights for 45 years from the airport operator. The project covers a hospitality-retail development across G+6 floors, totaling 5 lakh sqft. Phase 1 is set to open in the next 12 months, and Phase 2 in 36 months. Co-living Demand: The project caters to the growing workforce within and around the airport, with over 85,000 employees working within a 30-minute radius, generating a significant demand for co-living spaces. Investment Opportunity: The project offers an investment opportunity starting from 47 lakh INR, with an 8% fixed return for the first 12 years and a 31% revenue share thereafter.
