Adelaide Airport is carbon neutral – making us the first major airport in Australia to reach this milestone.   We have already reduced our carbon emissions by close to 90 per cent since 2018 through improved energy efficiency, increased onsite renewables, and other activities including purchasing 100 per cent renewable energy from a local windfarm.   Today we entered into an agreement to purchase certified Australian Carbon Credit Units from a land regeneration project in South Australia’s Gawler Ranges, through Canopy – part of Greening Australia. The credits will offset residual Scope 1 carbon emissions in 2024/25 which relate to the use of gas in the terminal and fuel in operational vehicles, with these offsets being an interim measure while the airport delivers its plans to convert gas plant in the terminal to electric as part of upcoming asset replacement cycles and replaces its remaining fleet vehicles with hybrid or electric alternatives.   We still have a way to go on our sustainability journey and will continue to partner in projects to develop Sustainable Aviation Fuel and other innovations to help us on a path to net zero emissions.   Read our 2024 Annual Integrated Report for more on our sustainability commitments and journey so far: https://lnkd.in/gSnmMYyz

Townsville Airport and Gold Coast Airport are making a decisive step towards decarbonisation by switching to 100% renewable energy, powering operations for over 8 million passenger journeys annually. By purchasing Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), Shawnee Mountain is supporting renewable energy projects and reducing its carbon footprint. This partnership aligns with our commitment to environmental stewardship and sets a new standard for sustainable practices in the ski industry. The RECs purchased by Shawnee Mountain will help offset 100% of the resort's forecast energy consumption. This means that the electricity used at Shawnee Mountain will be matched with renewable energy generated by a wind farm, Priddy Wind Project in Texas. A new seven-year agreement between CS Energy and Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) will see the Gold Coast and Townsville airports powered entirely by renewable energy starting January 1, 2025. This initiative will help these airports, which serve over eight million passengers annually, significantly reduce their carbon footprint. Key projects like the Kennedy Energy Park and various solar farms in regional Queensland will generate the 30GWh needed annually. This move is a major step towards QAL's Net Zero 2030 target, offsetting nearly 90% of their scope one and scope two emissions. At La Réserve Golf Links and Bagatelle Mall, our teams from Rogers Hospitality and Ascencia Ltd, respectively, have partnered with Ecoasis Energy Solutions to take a significant step toward sustainability by installing rooftop solar panels. These innovative systems align with Mauritius' national target of 35% renewable energy by 2025, showcasing how collaboration drives meaningful change. Here’s how these installations are making a difference: 🔋 La Réserve Golf Links: Producing 240 MWh of clean energy annually, enough to power the equivalent of 107 Mauritian households, while reducing carbon emissions by 230 tons. 🔋 Bagatelle Mall: Generating 748 MWh of renewable energy per year, powering 335 households and cutting CO2 emissions by 722 tons.
