Can heritage crafts thrive in a modern market? Malaysia's batik lestari initiative thinks so, and they are on a mission to boost the local batik industry. It's all about empowering local artisans and celebrating this incredible heritage craft. And it comes at a time when people are craving a deeper connection to their roots. Launched in 2023 with MyCreative Ventures , the initiative is opening up access to funding and commercial opportunities for batik businesses. The goal? To give batik artisans the recognition and fair value they deserve for their intricate, time-intensive work. And this resonates with a growing consumer trend in Malaysia. A recent survey found that a whopping 98% of Malaysians believe in supporting local businesses, and 67% prefer sustainable brands. Brands like Batik Boutique and MIMPIKITA are leading the way, showing how you can blend heritage, sustainability, and modern design. #batik #malaysia #sustainability #heritage #crafts #marketing #insights #localecommerce Signal credit Daniel Ian Comandante https://lnkd.in/gj6f_SMC The Edge Malaysia Zainariah Johari

IKEA Malaysia has a lot of explaining to do 👀 😆 . . . . . . . Bebola daging kanak-kanak = Meatballs made OF children 😂😂😂 Is Smaland secretly a bebola daging kanak-kanak farm? Should parents everywhere be concerned?? 🚩 Say NO to cannibalism 😆 (and bad translations). Trust me, there's plenty more where that came from 😅. IKEA Malaysia is definitely THE place for furniture puns and hilarious translations! On a more serious note, the translation is technically correct, but it lacks NUANCE. A more appropriate translation would be "bebola daging untuk kanak-kanak" (meatballs for kids). Rindu pula nak makan bebola daging IKEA 😋. Pergi sana semata-mata nak makan, bukan beli perabot pun. #ikea #translation #terjemahan #lawak #funny #meatballs #cloudywithachanceofbadtranslations #kids #savethechildren #organharvesting #artificialintelligence #branding #adibahwrites #adibahtranslates

The Art of Marketing from Bali Last year, during a trip to Bali, I went to a small shop run by an elderly lady. I was merely browsing her collection of light Balinese dresses, typical for the humid island climate, with no intention of buying anything. Despite her limited English, this savvy shopkeeper knew her marketing strategy well. She looked at me and said, "You look like Balinese, you super!" This simple compliment not only brought a smile to my husband and me but also intrigued us. In marketing theory, there's a concept of showcasing products with models that resemble the target customers. For instance, using an Indian model to advertise earrings to Indian customers. The old lady applied this principle perfectly. She didn't have Indian products, but she made me feel connected to her Balinese collection. Her approach, though seemingly simple, was powerful. She didn't have a formal education or a degree in marketing; she learned through trial and error, by listening to her customers and adapting her strategies. Her words and the experience still resonate with me a year later. This encounter is a testament to the universal truth in marketing: understanding and connecting with your customer is key. Sometimes, the best strategies come from experience and genuine human interaction. #Marketing #CustomerExperience #TravelStories #Bali #SalesStrategy #DigitalMarketing

When Bali Body hit the shelves in Coles, it marked more than just a new business milestone—it was a testament to the power of a strong product, market awareness, and a smart content strategy. The rise of Bali Body as a major player in the retail beauty industry offers valuable lessons for other brands looking to expand and succeed. Here are three key takeaways from their journey: 1. Being First to Market with a Great Product 2. Listening to Customer Attitudes and (more importantly!) Noticing When They Change 3. Flexibility in Content Strategy to Lean Into New Attitudes https://lnkd.in/gnuNVsFQ

"A curated view of where innovation is happening in marketing today, why it matters, and how it is transforming modern business". --- Let’s dance. Yes, I have been a great music enthusiast for many years. Speaking specifically about dance music, we know that it has always needed the right space from which its gravitational rhythms resonate best with the audience. Inspired by iconic venues and the most sought-after sounds, Klymax Discotheque was created, a nightclub specially designed for the art of dance within the Potato Head resort in Seminyak, Bali, where optimized acoustics and a springy dance floor enhance patrons' experience. Equipped with cutting-edge audio systems, design, and lighting, every element has been carefully considered to enhance the experience on the dance floor (a substantial 208 square meters). When building a room to present music in the best possible way, the design usually turns out to be visually appealing. The venue was designed by the architecture firm OMA with a bottom-up approach in collaboration with DJ Harvey, a legendary provocateur of the scene with over 40 years of experience in underground dance, who provided crucial input to bring the project to life 🙌 What’s your take? # 343 HOSPITALITY, Indonesia 👉 More content on our website and subscribe to the weekly newsletter; the link to the featured news is in the first comment below. 🎯 If you want to learn more about our transformative approach to generating growth (yes, what we call innovation marketing!), feel free to write me privately.
