Delighted to be in Gateshead for today’s announcements. Warner Bros. Discovery welcomes the first step of the Government's Sector Plan and renewed support for the creative industries announced today, as well as joins with government and partners to support growth and investment across the industry in the U.K. We are particularly pleased to see the active steps the government is taking to deliver a more flexible and bespoke Growth and Skills Levy suited to the creative industry’s needs. Addressing hiring gaps in the market by focusing on skills and increasing opportunity for all are key priorities for Warner Bros. Discovery in the U.K, currently supported through our significant investment in our below the line skills and training centre at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, CrewHQ, and our talent development programme for underrepresented creatives across the nations and regions, WBD Access.

What a day. The creative industries are at the heart of our plans for growth in the North East. At today’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport Creative industries Growth Summit, alongside Secretary of State for Culture Lisa Nandy we announced: 📖£5m for New Writing North for a National Writing Centre in the heart of Newcastle. ✨£5m for Sunderland Culture Glassworks in Sunderland, regenerating and preserving the ancient skill of glassmaking for generations to come. 🎤Our region prioritised for Creative Industry investment. All this matches our regional investment but we are unapologetically ambitious and we can do more. This is just the start… Well done The Glasshouse International Centre for Music for amazing hosting.

Huge news for the region, over on Bdaily ‼️ “The North East is a region on the rise and taking its rightful place in the world - standing tall and proud on the national and world stage, thanks to our world-class arts, culture, and creativity.” The North East is set to benefit from a £10 million investment to enhance its cultural and creative industries, with funding from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport allocated to establish a new centre at Bolbec Hall for writing and publishing in Newcastle, as well as a new glassmaking centre in Sunderland, helping preserve the city’s rich 1,350-year glassmaking heritage.  "After four years, with two separate stints in solitary confinement, and remains on probation until next August. After two documentaries plus references in a Saturday Night Live skit and in an Oscars opening joke, the term “Fyre Fest” has become synonymous with scams and disasters." He has a high-stakes opportunity to change the narrative - I refer to this example in many of my keynotes and workshops as a case study. Reviving Fyre Festival is a bold move given the massive failure of the first event. To get it right this time, careful planning, transparency, and solid execution are key. Some thoughts: 1. Build a Trustworthy and Competent Team Partner with experts in event planning, logistics, marketing, and finance. Ensure the team has a track record of delivering successful large-scale events. 2. Establish Clear Leadership Principles: Establish clear leadership roles and responsibilities to maintain accountability throughout the planning and execution phases and hold each other ACCOUNTABLE 3.. Develop a Realistic and Detailed Plan Set Clear Objectives: with owners. Define the festival’s vision, goals, and target audience. Make sure the objectives are achievable within the given resources and timeframe. 4. Budget Planning: Create a detailed budget covering all aspects, including infrastructure, entertainment, logistics, marketing, and contingencies. Choose a location with existing infrastructure or one that can realistically accommodate the necessary facilities. 5. Learn from the Past. Acknowledge and be honest about mistakes. Be upfront about the failures of the previous festival and how this event will address those issues. I honestly believe it is his only course of action forward.
