Absolutely thrilled to have co-chaired the Ocular and Central Nervous System session at the British Society for Gene and Cell Therapy (BSGCT)'s Oxford 2024 conference this week. The session hosted some truly talented scientists, with presentations from UCL's Simon Waddington on Dopamine Transporter Deficiency Syndrome, Oxford's Jasmina Cehajic Kapetanovic on Gene Therapies for Retinal Disease, Edinburgh's Ralph Hector on a Self-Regulating Gene Therapy for Rett Syndrome, and ikarovec 's CSO Katie Binley on Next-Gen Treatments for Geographic Atrophy. The session was wrapped up by Katie Greed representing the Phelan McDermid Syndrome Foundation UK, giving a wonderful overview and heartfelt account of the disease. Huge thanks to these amazing speakers, and an extra special thank you to my co-chair Amy Geard for being an absolute pro!
