Turning viruses into cancer therapeutics. Head of Solid Cancers and Professor of Translational Virotherapies, Cardiff University School of Medicine. Founder and CSO, Trocept Therapeutics (Accession Therapeutics).

Want to join our thriving Viral ImmunoTherapies and Advanced therapies Lab, (VITAL) on a fully funded, 4 year PhD? We are looking for a talented and highly motivated student to join us on a Mosawi Foundation Scholarship, available for October 2024 start, to develop "molecular switches" to control "smart viruses" to treat #Glioma #GBM #BrainCancer #DIPG #DMG. In other words, to make our smart viruses even smarter! This project is co supervised by the awesome Emily Bates, Florian Siebzehnrubl and Liam Gray, and will build important links with the HCRW funded Brain Unit and Wales Cancer Research Centre (@theWCRC). Funding is available for UKRI level stipend for 4 years, and covers UK fees for the project (sorry, but any international students have to pay a higher rate and would need to fund the difference - not fair I accept, but not something I can influence no matter how much I want to!). Consumables are also generously funded. Please contact me with any questions on the project, and please apply if this might be your thing! Shares would be really helpful. Thanks.
