HelloFace is a UK-based startup focused on inclusivity and sustainability. The Earthshot Prize nominated company designs and manufactures certified, inclusive, reusable and recyclable RPE and medical devices. Offering unique transparency that allows visibility of a mask user's entire face, the team is aiming to solve the problem of hidden communication. Something which can negatively impact on individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, with opaque masks leading to up to 98% communication loss. It is a problem that also affects anyone working within a noisy environment that requires the use of respiratory protection, such as healthcare and industry settings. Co-founder Dean Ezekiel was inspired with the idea by the experiences of his wife Aimee, who is partially deaf, and wears a mask during site visits as part of her work as an interior designer. Currently being trialled by an NHS trust, the masks will also be showcased at the RCN (Royal College of Nursing) conference on climate change. For others, it’s the end of a financial year or the start of new resolutions destined to fade in a few months. But at Allow Motion, the new year represents something much greater: renewal and transformation. For this next year, we’re rewriting the playbook once again: 🌟 New website 🌟 New branding 🌟 New offices 🌟 New colleagues 🌟 New partners 🌟 New journeys and an ambitious vision—because at Allow Motion, we dream big and aim higher every day. Our mission remains as clear as ever: "To provide innovative and accessible solutions for all." Allow Motion is dedicated to developing customized, safe, and effective myoelectric prosthetics to improve the quality of life for amputees worldwide. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies like 3D printing and AI, we aim to create tailored solutions that restore mobility, confidence, and freedom while reducing inequalities in access to advanced technologies. 2024: The Beginning of Something Bigger This past year has been an incredible journey, and here’s what we accomplished: 📌 January: 360° analysis of our company. 📌 February: Recognized as laureates of the Prototyping the Future grant, and learning from inspiring entrepreneurs at events like the Night of Inspiring Entrepreneurs and the Fuck-Up Night. 📌 March: Business and marketing training to deeply refine Allow Motion’s strategy. 📌 April: Tested our product and business model at the Entrepreneur Summit and discovered our place in society thanks to BeeLab. 📌 May: Realigned our goals for faster progress. 📌 June: Secured our first user, a milestone for our mission. 📌 July: Called on experts to join us and help us scale. 📌 October: Celebrated success at events like Mind and Market Liège and Gent Slush'd. 📌 November: Won the Climathon Liège AI section and participated in events like the MedTech Convention and the Start-Up Meeting. 📌 December: Kicked off an event calendar with 25 Questions to Grow Faster and Better and embraced gratitude on this 6th day. Looking Ahead We’re just getting started. What we’ve accomplished so far is only the beginning of what’s possible.
