Rezon, a sports safety startup based in County Durham, has developed the only legally CE-marked protective headband in the UK and Europe, designed to reduce rotational forces to the brain by up to 61%.
The company was founded in 2021 and is on a mission to tackle Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), a form of early onset dementia caused by repeated sub-concussive impacts.
The company is currently collaborating with Philadelphia-based cognitive health company, Cogwear, to develop a headband integrating clinical-grade EEG technology for real-time brain injury detection and safer return-to-play protocols. This new product is set to launch in late 2025.

Excited to announce Team8's latest investment - OneStep, which has developed a truly transformational digital health technology!
Using a single sensor in your smartphone, OneStep can measure gait, the manner a person walks, at a level of accuracy and granularity previously only available when using expensive gait labs found in clinical settings. This enables clinicians to easily monitor patients both remotely and in clinic, to track a wide range of conditions like orthopedic issues and cognitive deterioration such as Parkinson or Alzheimer.
We're proud to be co-leading OneStep's B-round with Vintage Investment Partners (Shira Eting) and join former investors Itay Rand (10D ), Michael Eisenberg (Aleph) and Jonathan Friedman (LionBird). This latest round brings the company's total funding to $36M.
Tomer Shussman, Yuval Naveh, Shahar Davidson and the team - excited to join forces to achieve your vision of making gait as valuable as a blood test and as easy as using a bathroom scale!
A huge thanks to Sarit Firon and the Team8 Health team (Assaf Mischari, Varda Shalev, Dror Grof) for making this investment happen.

🚀 Exciting News from RehabSwift! 🚀
We are thrilled to announce that our groundbreaking study on the personalised brain-computer interface therapy for stroke survivors has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science (PNAS Nexus)!
At RehabSwift, we are dedicated to revolutionising stroke rehabilitation. Our innovative system translates imagined hand movements into real-time actions using mechanical feedback, significantly improving hand mobility for stroke survivors. Over 18 sessions, participants demonstrated remarkable progress in key areas such as grip and pinch strength, reaction time, and overall hand function.
Key highlights of our study include:
>Personalised therapy that optimises the part of the brain to focus on, the best feature of the brain activity, and feedback timing.
>Significant improvements in motor function and sensory feedback.
>Positive feedback from participants who achieved their mobility goals.
Based at ThincLab, The University of Adelaide's startup incubator, RehabSwift is a spin-off from the University of Adelaide, building on the pioneering PhD research of our founder, Sam Darvishi, on feedback optimisation for restorative brain-computer interfaces.
We are immensely proud of our team's dedication and the impact our technology is making in the field of stroke rehabilitation. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to innovate and improve lives.

📖Ethnocare's Story
12 years ago, the mother of one of our co-founder underwent a bi-lateral amputation. Throughout her rehabilitation journey, she faced significant discomfort due to the limitations of existing prosthetic devices.
Louis, having grown up alongside his mother, understood that by driving innovation through a user-centered approach, we could make a profound impact on people's lives.
In 2019, our co-founders completed an Ethnographic Research in collaboration with five rehabilitation centers, involving over 30 healthcare professionals and patients. The objective was to focus on gaining a deep understanding of the prosthetic ecosystem and gain insights into the lives of amputees. We’ve identified the unmet clinical needs and propose an innovative solution that could genuinely benefit the users : The Overlay.
At Ethnocare, our goal remain simple yet powerful: to redefine people's mobility.
