For the first time, more people in #SoutheastAsia favour alignment with #China over the #UnitedStates, according to a new survey – driven by disillusionment with Washington’s foreign-policy actions and the economic benefits of Beijing’s #BeltandRoad Initiative, among other factors. Had an opportunity to attend Global Peace Foundation Webinar last week dubbed Intergenerational Dialogue: Amplifying Youth Voices for African Renaissance and these were the key areas that stood out during the session; 1. The voice of the youth in addressing poor governance should be nurtured in order to achieve Africa Renaissance. 2. Youths are frustrated when they look at Cultural. Religious and Political leaders. They see a lot of hypocrisy among the leaders. 3. We need to identify role models magnify and amplify them for the generation that we want to impact. 4. Solidarity as a value is one which we need to pay attention to and maximize and leverage. It can be utilized for the vision of Africa and passed from one generation to another. 5. We need to establish spaces for Intergenerational conversations. 6. Empowering Youths through different programs in peace, governance and development is very important. 7. Youths can amplify their voices for peace, security and development by using digital platforms.
