Day 7- Where do you see yourself and Tegeler Construction & Supply in 5 years, 10 years? I get asked this question a lot and have really thought a lot about it. While I know this could sound like a cop out, truly, yearly plans (much less 5-10 year plans) are not a part of my life. Had I tried to intricately plan my life and diligently stick to that plan, I would have missed SO many incredible opportunities. I WANT to be able to see and jump on all the peripheral opportunities that were never in my direct line of sight, which I don't think is possible when you set a narrow goal and keep blinders on. Some of those very opportunities have been the most fruitful and prolific in my life. Certainly I have BIG dreams and visions - family, professionally, and athletically - and I don't question getting there. It's my expectation, not my hope. However, the path and the plan is wide open to get there. I keep it that way. Here is where I am strategic and unwavering. I am very clear on my priorities and values in life. I know who I want to be and who/how I want to leave an impact on the world. As long as THAT is always at the forefront of everything I am doing (which is always a work in progress) than I am where I want and should be, on track. That can and will come in the form of a million different opportunities, some that I foresee and others that I don't. I feel fortunate that I have always been incredibly intrinsically motivated and that is 100% derived from the gratitude and love I have for everything my parents (and family) have done for me. That drives me every single day and will until the day I die. It really is relatively easy for me to put my head down and go hard (almost) every day, inspired and motivated. Simply 1 step in front of the other. Consistently and confidently. That's it.
