Connecting loss adjusting and claims professionals with great claims organisations in the UK and internationally
I spoke to a young adjuster yesterday who is thinking of leaving the profession. Why? Lack of support. When I first spoke to them several years ago, they were fired-up and absolutely determined to move on from a desk role to become an external adjuster. And they did it. At first, all went well, but when they moved to commercial claims, the support stopped. They had no mentor, their requests fell on deaf ears, and mistakes were made. Their confidence was knocked. When I caught up with them, I was shocked at how deflated they sounded—a far cry from when we first spoke. At a time when the profession needs new blood, it’s a real shame to hear people who have a real enthusiasm and love for adjusting being ground down and contemplating their future, all for a lack of someone to turn to and bounce ideas off. Adjusting companies have invested significant resources in training and development over the last few years, especially for graduate and academy programs, which has been fantastic to see. However, in what can be a challenging job, there’s no point in training people if they leave because there’s no ongoing support. Mentorship and support needs to continue beyond initial training to retain passionate adjusters in the industry. #lossadjusters #lossadjuster #claims #support #training

Hey everyone, In my journey as a Claims Adjuster with Nationwide, I’ve seen it all. From small mishaps to life-changing events, each claim is a chapter in someone’s unique story. What I’ve realized is that this job isn’t just about numbers and policies; it’s about people. It’s about lending an ear when the world seems upside down and finding solutions that bring back a sense of normalcy. Here’s what keeps me going and what I believe sets us apart in the claims world: 1. **Empathy at Every Step**: Understanding the emotional rollercoaster that comes with each claim and being there, genuinely, for each individual. 2. **Innovation with Heart**: Using technology not just for efficiency, but to make processes smoother and more human for everyone involved. 3. **Sustainable Choices**: Guiding towards options that not only resolve the immediate issue but do so thoughtfully, with an eye on the future. I’m on a mission to make each claims experience better than expected. Because at the end of the day, it’s about more than just resolving a claim—it’s about restoring peace of mind. I’d love to hear from others in the industry. What drives you? How do you make a difference in the moments that matter? Feel free to connect, share, and let’s inspire each other to keep making a positive impact. #ClaimsAdjuster #InsuranceLife #MakingADifference #Nationwide

I read a valuable post about lessons learned from attorneys and claims professionals - one comment sits with me - remember the client is busier than you. I know some attorneys will disagree (at least silently), failing to recognize the immense pressures clients are under. A claims professional responds to URGENT questions all day from supervisors, the insureds, the underlying plaintiff's counsel, the broker, the reinsurer, attorneys, and the list goes on. Many times, the claim notes reflect the claims professional (like you) is working "off hours," early mornings, evenings, and nights. A claims professional can have anywhere between 100 to 200 plus pending claims on her desk. If you want to be at the top of your client's list the next time she has a new claim, recognize her time is valuable, she is just as busy or busier than you. Respect her time by providing timely, easy to digest status updates, and whatever you do don't forget to INCLUDE THE CLAIM NUMBER in the subject line of your email and for goodness’ sake -- use spell check 😬. Tell us about your lessons learned in the comments 👇 (post for a friend)

Notes validate treatment details for billing, as noted by a former claims adjuster. Attorneys need clear treatment records for demand packages. Better documentation, case management, and communication can lead to more attorney referrals. These insights come from PI attorneys and former claims adjusters. #genesischiropracticsoftware #practicemanagement #chiropracticsoftware #clinicsoftware #chiropracticbilling #emr #ehr #ehrsoftware #dreampractice #practicegrowth #privatepractice

Connecting loss adjusting and claims professionals with great claims organisations in the UK and internationally
I've been seeing a growing trend of loss adjusters joining a company and immediately being given a large caseload of outstanding files, some of which may have been neglected for a considerable period. These files often include complaint cases or claims teetering on the brink of escalation. Now, adjusters know that when they move jobs, they'll often pick up someone else's WIP, as well as their own new instructions. But they don't want to spend the first 3-6 months of their new job in a constant state of fire-fighting. It's a recipe for those adjusters to be looking for an early exit to a new role. And then the caseload gets passed to another new adjuster....it's a vicious circle. What's the answer? #lossadjuster #lossadjusting #claims #WIP
