You have formed connections with your children when for an extended period of time you were all they knew in the world. This September brings a new chapter for you both. ✨Don’t be afraid to reflect on the past 3 or 4 years. You really have done amazing in unprecedented times. ✨Know that emotions may be heightened during this time so go easy on yourself. You and your children deserve a settling-in period. ✨Plan something post-first drop-off. This does not have to be big or time consuming but a phone call to a loved one or a peaceful coffee can give you the grounding space you might need. ✨Plan low-key connection time with the children for the first couple of weekends of term. It can be easy to want to plan something extravagant or really special with the children once they start a school setting because suddenly your time with them to do such things has changed. However, bear in mind that the children are processing a lot of new information and sensory experiences. Time with you is their safe space, normality and connection is the regulating experience that their little neurological systems need right now. #NewSchoolYear #Regulation #Parenting

THE GREATEST GIFTS YOU CAN GIVE TO YOUR CHILD(REN) AS A PARENT (PART 7) The influence of family in a child academic performance and beyond cannot be overemphasized. The environment parents create at home shapes the emotional and psychological development of their children in profound ways. Here are two more invaluable gifts every parent should consider giving to their child(ren): 1. FOND MEMORIES Family is built on shared experiences. The moments you create with your child will stay with them for a lifetime, shaping their outlook on life. As a parent it's important you prioritize creating positive, joyful memories—moments filled with laughter, love, and connection. Children should not carry the burden of trauma from their early years; instead, their minds should be filled with memories that uplift and empower them as they grow. 2. A HOLISTIC FOUNDATION A truly holistic foundation prepares your child to thrive in all aspects of life. Teach them essential life skills, such as managing and creating wealth, how to talk to people, how to control their emotions and how to care for their body through healthy habits. Teach them about God and the tenet of the faith you practice. By doing your part to raise a well-rounded child, you're ensuring that they are prepared to face life's challenges with resilience.
