At Egg, we have strong ties to California. Many of us have lived there, and our founder was born and raised in Pasadena. His family’s home was lost in the wildfires of the 1990s, and now, the Eaton Fire is threatening that same neighborhood. Watching this devastation unfold hits especially close to home for some of us. Over the past year, we’ve seen a shift in what consumers are looking for from the brands they support. More than ever, people want brands that feel human—that show up, care, and take action. Consumers aren’t just seeking products; they want to align themselves with brands that stand for something meaningful and demonstrate a genuine commitment to making a difference. They’re looking for companies that offer real support in tough times, whether it’s through charitable efforts, ethical practices, or simply being there when it matters most. Today, we want to highlight some of those brands—those who are stepping up right now, partnering with nonprofits, and offering products and services to help evacuated residents and first responders in the wake of these devastating fires. These are the brands that understand it’s not just about business, but about building real, compassionate connections with the communities they serve. #lastrong #lafires #losangeles

Consider donating to Red Cross, Salvation Army or other organizations, providing emergency shelter and basic necessities to those affected. Red Cross is accepting donations online, by calling (800) 733-2767 or texting REDCROSS to 90999.Please consider donating to organizations like World Central Kitchen, making an effort to get food and water to the affected. Direct Relief is communicating with local healthcare providers and EMS. Consider donating directly to LA Fire Department Foundation. California Fire Foundation is helping firefighters and their families. International Medical Corps are helping with local medical efforts. Canine Rescue Club is looking for volunteers to help rescued pets. Set Active is accepting clothing donations. Unopened food, clothing, emergency supplies and pet food can be donated to Anderson Munger Family YMCA and at the Koreatown YMCA in Los Angeles. In a time like this, words feel inadequate. The loss, the fear, the uncertainty, it's overwhelming. To everyone in Los Angeles and surrounding areas facing this devastating crisis, our hearts are with you. While words can never truly capture the magnitude of what you're going through, collective action can provide a glimmer of hope and strength. As devastating fires continue to impact Los Angeles and surrounding communities, Russell of Hotels wants to take a moment to acknowledge the pain and challenges faced by so many families, businesses, and individuals during this time. The hospitality industry has always been about more than rooms and service—it’s about community, care, and connection. Today, as we witness this devastation, the hotel community across Los Angeles is stepping up in incredible ways to support those affected: Providing Shelter for Evacuees: Many hotels are opening their doors to offer discounted or complimentary stays for individuals and families who have been displaced. Supporting First Responders: Local hotels are providing meals, rest areas, and accommodations for the heroic firefighters, medical personnel, and volunteers who are tirelessly working to keep us safe. Donation Drives and Relief Efforts: Several hotels and DMOs are partnering with community organizations to collect essential supplies—clothing, toiletries, food, and water—to distribute to those in need. Creating Safe Spaces: Hotels unaffected by the fires are ensuring air filtration systems are operating at maximum efficiency, offering safe spaces for locals and visitors to escape the smoke. Here are some examples of hotels stepping up to provide relief during this time: Hotel Figueroa is collaborating with the American Red Cross to house displaced families and offering discounted rates, waived pet fees, and flexible dining options. The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood is providing discounted room rates for evacuees and first responders. 1 Hotel West Hollywood is extending reduced rates and complimentary valet services. Hotel Per La is offering 25% off stays for displaced residents with pet-friendly accommodations. Best Western Plus Commerce Hotel is providing special rates for families in need. Additionally, organizations like Airbnb.org are partnering with 211 LA to offer free, temporary housing for those displaced by the wildfires. This collective effort is a powerful reminder of the resilience and compassion that define our city and our industry. At Russell of Hotels, we stand in solidarity with everyone affected and are committed to amplifying these acts of kindness through our platforms. Together, we can support our community in healing and rebuilding. If you’re looking for ways to help, consider supporting these efforts: Donate to organizations like the American Red Cross, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, or local shelters. Volunteer your time or resources to relief efforts in your area. Spread the word about hotels and organizations offering assistance to those in need. To all the victims, first responders, and volunteers: we see you, we thank you, and we stand with you. Together, we will recover stronger than ever. Stay safe, stay hopeful, and let’s continue to uplift one another during this difficult time. Sincerely, Russell L. Edmond CEO & Founder, Russell of Hotels

It's been a harrowing week as Los Angeles and surrounding communities face an unimaginable crisis from multiple wildfires, which continue to rage as I type this. Mercifully, our family is safe. But I am heartbroken by the absolute destruction that has occurred, erasing entire communities. Firefighters and first responders have been working around the clock and I am in awe of their sheer force of effort, including those teams that have come from fellow states and neighboring countries, as well as the incarcerated volunteer hand crews working on the frontlines. I've called L.A. my home for 25 years, and when I see folks mobilizing and taking action on behalf of our amazing city it is incredibly humbling. There are many, many opportunities to help, so I want to spotlight a few here. Donations (1) Watch Duty 501(c)(3) has been a literal life-saver, staffed nearly 100% by volunteers (many former firefighters, first responders, radio operators and journalists), providing to-the-second updates to all of us on the ground (2) World Central Kitchen 501(c)(3) has once again answered the call, serving food to evacuees, firefighters and first responders (3) Sadly, there is a growing list of members of the marketing community that have lost their homes and need immediate help to get through this unexpected catastrophe -- a list nobody wants to be on, but I want to leverage my network to highlight the GoFundMe fundraisers for Kerry Tucker, Noora Raj Brown, Will Hammond (links in comments below) Resources & Volunteer Opportunities (1) Brands providing free product to those effected (DM @juliabeilman_ on Instagram to add a brand): https://lnkd.in/gYGSmzjx (2) Fast-growing list of 475+ resources, item-drop off centers, and hands-on volunteer opportunities: https://lnkd.in/g4ij9X-S (3) Housing, Lease, Relief-related links, including practical advice from a person who lost her home in a previous fire, which breaks down how to triage an incredibly overwhelming situation from someone who's gone through it: https://lnkd.in/gxS-D366 This is not a quick-fix situation. People are going to need support for the long haul. Price gouging restrictions are in place that limit increases for critical goods to 10%, including hotels and rental housing. Sadly there are predators already taking advantage of a desperate situation. There's nothing our city loves more than a comeback, and you better believe we'll do so stronger than ever! Please everyone stay safe, heed the evacuation warnings (please download Watch Duty if you have not already), stay off the roads near affected areas, limit your outdoor exposure (furry friends too) and wear n95 masks if you must venture outside even if you don't see / smell smoke and despite what the AQI says as the air is toxic right now. Many poisonous gases and carcinogens in the air. #LAFires #EatonFire #PalisadesFire
