Alongside many community partners, we are excited to support Washington Goes Purple (WGP) as we enter National Alcohol & Drug Recovery Month in September. WGP is a substance misuse education movement aiming to engage our community and youth to prevent addiction and eliminate stigma. There are a variety of ways to get involved this year, starting with a night out at a Flying Boxcars game tomorrow, August 28th! For more WGP information: https://ow.ly/B6vL50T33oK

Statistics from the CDC: In what is likely a gross underestimate due to underreporting, 1 in 7 US children is a victim of neglect or abuse. Graphic created by Lunch Meat for Dinner: Mediocre Mom Musings . It has an image of a stuffed bunny above the CDC stat. **** Today, April 5, 2024, we wear blue 💙 for #ChildAbusePreventionAwareness as one's quality of life in childhood and youth affects one's quality of life as an adult. Thank you to The Bridge to Hope in Dunn County, WI for suggesting the digital spaces flood with support for those experiencing adverse childhood trauma and/or are adults coping with past childhood abuse in all it's forms (verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual) due to ableist, classist, mysogynist, and racist systems at play in many USA institutions still on this #SAAM2024 . *** This can include medical systems as for-profit medical institutions systemically silence patients depending on their nuanced identities, and how stigmatized the humans are in the communities they try to live a quality life among peers.*** #FamilyCourtAwareness #FamilyCourtCorruption #FamilyCourtReform
