As mental health awareness month comes to an end..."Let's continue to talk about mental health. Did you know that 20% of teens experience depression before adulthood, and only 30% receive treatment? It's time to end the stigma and ensure everyone gets the support they need. Anxiety affects 3.6% of 10–14-year-olds and 4.6% of 15–19-year-olds, yet many suffer in silence. Suicide is the third leading cause of death for people ages 15–24, with an adolescent dying by suicide every 100 minutes. We need more mental health providers and safe spaces in schools to address these issues. Remember, you're not alone, and it's okay to ask for help. #EndTheStigma #MentalHealthMatters"

This week is Mental Illness Awareness Week, including World Mental Health Day on 10/10: a reminder to reach out, have open dialogue, offer support, and seek help. 🌟 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🌟 Let’s come together to break the stigma surrounding mental health and prioritize our well-being. Today I am working on recertification in Mental Health First Aid. This training teaches individuals how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health illnesses and substance use disorders. The training provides the skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or who is experiencing a crises. I will not diagnose or treat individuals, I will aid those showing signs or symptoms by listening and guiding them to resources. #MentalHealthAwareness #BreaktheStigma

Mental Health is a popular topic in many different aspects of life. Concussion recovery should be one of them. If your concussion recovery plan doesn’t address your mental health, then you’re missing a major aspect of concussion rehab. #Concussion #ConcussionRehab #ConcussionEducation #ConcussionAwareness #ConcussionClinic #ConcussionRecovery #MWConcussion
May Is Mental Health Awareness Month. Concussions and mental health are two topics that go hand in hand. It’s an aspect of recovery we focus on a lot in our clinic. Teens who experience multiple concussions, especially in the same year, run a higher risk of suicidal ideation and attempts. If your concussion recovery plan doesn’t address your mental health, you’re missing a large portion of the puzzle. #Concussion #ConcussionRehab #ConcussionEducation #ConcussionAwareness #ConcussionClinic #ConcussionRecovery #MWConcussion

Feeling like you've exhausted all options when dealing with a loved one's addiction can be incredibly overwhelming. If you're wondering if an intervention is the next step, here are some actionable insights to consider: ↳ Have you had open and honest conversations with your loved one about their addiction and its impact? Sometimes, a heartfelt dialogue can be the catalyst for change. ↳ Have you set clear boundaries and stuck to them, showing that you won't enable destructive behavior? Boundaries are crucial in protecting your wellbeing. ↳ Have you sought support for yourself through therapy or counseling? Taking care of your mental health is essential in navigating this challenging journey. Remember, an intervention is not a sign of giving up; it's a powerful tool to show your loved one the depth of your care and concern. #AddictionRecovery #Intervention #MentalHealthSupport
