Business podcasts are usually just two people agreeing with each other for an hour. It sucks. Give me more: Fails Fun segments Disagreement Self-deprecation Multiple hosts and guests Like... can you imagine a podcast segment where the hosts dissect the guest's search history rabbit holes from the past week? A few notable exceptions: 1. BOSSY with Tara & Katie (from Morning Brew) 2. The Proof Point (from UserEvidence) 3. Per My Last Email (also from Morning Brew) Who's doing well in the podcast/live show game?
I'm in favor, but it needs structure to avoid simply trading punches with hypotheticals. For this I would look to what is tried and true on TV. For example, talk-show formats where the full panel of guests isn't sitting there for the whole segment. They bring guests out in sequence and give each their air time. There's a little bit of interaction between segments, but avoids having a bunch of people sitting there awkwardly while one speaks.
I'd be curious to know what you think of my show - Women in B2B Marketing Not much disagreement, but new guests each week with stories and tactics. Definitely self-deprecation I hope some fun Some fails shared - but would love more Always looking for feedback!
I’d like to throw EMMIE Collective’s into the ring .. Pretty Funny Business
So…..Our Marketing Sucks launches in September. I’d love to have you on.
The only podcast I listen to religiously is Podwatcher and it is 3 hosts who talk about absolute BS the entire time. Like, just random things in their head hahah. Not even marketing related. But I’m saving this post for the suggestions. Tbh I’m not very good at listening to any in the first place. If I’m doing anything other than the most mundane tasks, I can’t hear it at all.
Olivia Brizzolara interesting take here worth reading :D
Never heard of those podcasts, I'll give them a shot.

9moI've always like the idea of a "Marketing Skeptic" podcast where you get a guest on with a strong marketing opinion and really grill them to see if it holds true
