Brooks Kushman P.C. recently secured a favorable final written decision of an inter partes review at the US Patent and Trademark Office Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) on behalf of inventor Evan Spero. The subject patent relates to an illuminating device for vehicles whereby illumination intensity and spectrum are varied to illuminate areas according to the principles of correct lighting practice. Is a design patent very valuable? I accidentally answered this in wondering why the Stanley Quencher was so popular at Xmas and where the copycats were. It seems the revolutionary thermos was invented by Mr Stanley in 1913, and so has expired long ago. The current version is just protected by the design right USD0996915. Interestingly Stanley (now Pacific Market International) is very keen on IP in general, with a whopping and ominous 666 patent rights.

Proud moment last week when one of my inventions was officially approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, patent # 11,985,665. Imagine ordering food or coffee in a drive-through and never needing to find a payment method to transact because your car takes care of it securely for you. That's what this invention does. It can take years from concept to patent filing to approval – this was filed in June 2021! Plenty more in the pipeline where this came from. https://lnkd.in/ehpPj8PU
