10.000,- € is the value of our annual Doerrenberg student award. Thursday our award will be granted for the 16th time, it sponsors remarkable thesis in the field of materials engineering. Besides the high financial contribution, It is a unique sponsorship in Germany and within our industry, as the award is not given at a post-graduate level, like PhD or Masters, but rather academic achievements at undergraduate level, emphasizing the achievements of young and talented students with applicable solutions for our company and therefore, our customers. Furthermore, applicants can come from any University in the DACH region – alumni are from a broad range of universities, e.g. RWTH Aachen, RU Bochum, Bremen, Chemnitz, Graz, Ilmenau, Magdeburg… The jury is formed by Prof. Dr. Christoph Broeckmann, @Prof. Dr. mont. Today, we are thrilled to host our EU4DUAL - The European Dual Studies University partners for a workshop focused on identifying ideas for collaborative projects in Engineering for Sustainable and Digital Industry. Researchers from our universities will work on four key subtopics: Human-Machine Interaction, Additive Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, and Circularity. Zabala Innovation France provided a presentation that included a screening of upcoming calls and guidance for proposal submissions for collaborative projects. We extend our thanks to the 30 participants at ESTIA and the 12 participants who joined us online. EU4DUAL is a European initiative aimed at fostering dual education systems and enhancing collaboration between universities and industries. New Year, New Me..?   After more than 15 years at Chalmers, where I completed my bachelor’s, master’s, PhD, and post-doc, I have now transitioned into a permanent position as a Research Specialist.    For me, this is a major commitment to a long-term future in academia.   In my new role at Chalmers, I will have three major opportunities:    1. Enhance my focus on specialization by building in-depth, domain-specific expertise in theory, methods, and tools that are critical to the long-term vision of Chalmers' research initiatives.    2. Provide support and mentorship to our junior researchers and faculty members to enhance the rigorous use of empirical research methodologies within our current and prioritized research areas.    3. Pursue my personal research interests through strategic collaborations with our industry partners in various research projects, effectively contributing to improving the manufacturing industry and building a better world.   So, what will change? RWTH Named Best University Nationally for Industrial Engineering 🙌 With its latest university ranking, the WirtschaftsWoche magazine once again confirmed RWTH’s excellent reputation among companies. Each year, approximately 500 human resources managers are surveyed to evaluate universities based on their perceived effectiveness in preparing students for professional careers. The results affirm RWTH's exceptional reputation in research and teaching: a degree from RWTH is seen to provide optimal preparation for professional life and its associated demands on graduates. 👍 Again, RWTH tops WirtschaftsWoche's rankings in industrial engineering. About one-third of the surveyed recruiters indicated that they would prioritize hiring graduates from RWTH. Coming in second place, RWTH’s program mechanical engineering also finished exceptionally well. Third-place rankings were achieved in electrical engineering, computer science, and the natural sciences.
