“Start where you are. Don’t get too wrapped up in the language and the terms and the labels. Anything can be viewed through an impact lens and can be managed on that basis. So, if you’re in a firm doing whatever type of investing, all you have to do is start asking uncomfortable questions. About the practice, about the process . . . and you become an impact investor.” Jed Emerson, Tiedemann Advisors, Global Lead Impact Investing on the Evolution of Impact, George Roberts & REDF, the Role of Investing in the Post-Growth World, and More Listen to my full interview with Jed here: https://lnkd.in/gVR6tnxC

Very interesting insights at the New Private Markets Impact Investor Global Summit in London this year. Investing in climate-related strategies aiming at immediate and measurable impact rather than in VC-type green techs with a more uncertain and longer-term impact seems to be the flavour of this year. Thank you to Marieke Beeuwkes Spence for moderating the discussion I took part in about how to scale impact investments, as well as fellow panelists Clara Barby, Willem Huidekoper, CFA and Nick Wood #ImpactInvestorSummit #ClimateAction

Co-Founder at Inyova Impact Investing———I write about sustainability for professionals who want to drive positive change.
A shareholder meeting with 2,714 crowdinvestors. How can this ever work? Inyova Impact Investing is a somewhat public firm. We’re not fully public of course, but we have 2,714 crowd-shareholders. And they are full shareholders, with voting rights and everything. And we LOVE our crowdinvestors. 🫶 Why? Because they are Inyova evangelists. They refer more, invest more, their share honest feedback, their enthusiasm keeps us going. So how do we engage so many crowdinvestors? Here’s how we do it: 🔹 Exclusive crowd investor updates: Not only metrics but also a “look under the hood” with insights into life at Inyova. 🔹 Investor webinars: Interactive sessions where we answer every single question. 🔹 Look back / Look ahead: We share achievements and setbacks (not all failures are public for linkedin 😇) and give detailed updates about our strategic thinking 🔹 Voting at the AGM: Crowdinvestors vote at our yearly AGM. 🔹 Explicit feedback: Not everything is always great. At our last webinar, 10% of crowdinvestors voiced that they’re not fully happy with their journey. For instance, we got called out for our all-male leadership team, and rightly so. We aim to address this by the next reporting cycle. Opening Inyova to crowd-investors was a strategic decision in 2022. We wanted to diversify our investor base and create evangelists. We’re quite happy where we ended up 🙂 How do you involve your communities? - - - If you’re about real change, join 12’500+ impact investors with Inyova. Follow me for practical insights into how you can make a difference in sustainability as a professional. #Inyova #ImpactInvesting #makingimpactinvestingmainstream
