The Impact of Appreciation. As healthcare providers, it's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day demands of our work. But every once in a while, a patient's small gesture of gratitude can make all the difference. Recently, one of my patients surprised me with a wooden card engraved with words of kindness and appreciation. It reminded me of the importance of recognizing the human connection in healthcare. Beyond the exercises and treatments, it's the trust and support between patient and clinician that truly make a difference. This experience reaffirmed my commitment to providing compassionate care and reminded me of the mutual respect and appreciation that exists between patients and healthcare providers. Let's never forget the power of appreciation - whether it's a kind word, a smile, or a thoughtful gesture, these expressions of gratitude strengthen the bonds of empathy and compassion that drive our work. Here's to fostering a culture of appreciation in the clinical field, where every act of kindness reminds us of the value of human connection in healing and wellness. #clinician #physicaltherapy #gratitude

When you're in the position of caring for an aging loved one, there more often than not, will come a time where you will need to deepen your involvement with their overall health and well being. This is a stage we refer to as "Health Immersion," and can be one of the more challenging, yet critically important, stages to get your arms around. In this post, we talk through the myriad of challenges that one can face when trying to properly advocate for a loved one. A basic understanding of who their healthcare providers are, what medications they're actively on, what conditions are beings treated (both chronic and acute), should be one of your base goals. This particular challenge is what served as our founder's initial inspiration for our platform, the Illuminator, which pulls all of this together from a loved ones medical claims. Having this base understanding of your loved ones health journey will hopefully lead to more confident and empowered advocating. Read about our founder's journey, and learn about some tips navigating this stage: https://lnkd.in/eJ5tWf4h

Sometimes life takes us on unexpected paths, and my journey is a perfect example of that. Due to a long-term health condition, I’ve spent the last ten years mostly at home, with frequent visits to the hospital. What might seem like a setback turned out to be something more, an eye-opening experience that introduced me to the world of medicine. While I’m not a medical expert, I’ve developed a deep admiration for the dedication and intellect of healthcare professionals. The more time I spent in hospitals, the more fascinated I became with the work they do. From the iconic white coat to the meaningful patient care, it all sparked a passion in me that I never anticipated. Ten years at home, countless hospital visits, and one unexpected discovery: a growing interest in the medical field. It’s incredible how life’s challenges can reveal new passions. While I’m still exploring this path, I’m excited to share my journey with you. 🩺💙 Have you ever found yourself drawn to something you never expected? I’d love to hear about it! Share your story in the comments, and let’s connect over the journeys that shape us. #MyHealthcareJourney #FindingPurpose #CuriousAboutMedicine #AboutMe #PersonalStories #PersonalGrowth #HealthcareSupport #VirtualAssistant #MedicalSupport #RemoteWorker #BehindTheScenes #MedicalProviders #HealthcareIndustry #WorldWideServices #HealthcareSupport #HealthcareStories #Telemedicine #LifeLessons #Healthcare

☀ This month is all about a topic that I am passionate about >>JOY<< ☀ As healthcare workers, we are focused on the Triple Aim of healthcare: enhancing patient experience, improving population health, and reducing cost per capita. However, my favourite aim is the Quadruple Aim, which recognizes the importance of healthcare providers' well-being and joy at work. Joy is a key factor in achieving the Triple Aim, as it motivates, drives, and inspires us to go above and beyond for our patients. 💡 So how to be joyous! One hurdle we face is the difficulty of doing nothing, but even dedicating a few minutes to daydreaming or self-care activities can lighten the load on our frontal cortex. It's crucial to prioritize ourselves. And now, for a daydream joke: Why did the nurse daydream about becoming a comedian? Because she wanted to give patients a healthy dose of laughter alongside their medicine! 🤣 https://lnkd.in/gd66MkPw

https://buff.ly/3ybYvsL Conducting telebehavioral health with more than one member of a relational system can be highly effective, but it can also be fraught with limitations introduced by technology, varying locations of clients, and working with different developmental levels in one setting. Get 25% off with the code "FamilyCare25" (only until July 30) in our online self-study course "One Screen, Many Faces: Creating Space For Working with Couples and Families Via Telehealth", presented by Katherine Hertlein, Ph.D., LMFT, and learn creative techniques for creating space for couples and families over telebehavioral health. Group care is the future, but one doctor told me she literally loses sleep the night before her group visit day. Here's why: The physician I spoke to runs virtual group visits for weight management, prediabetes, and lifestyle medicine, but the challenges are enormous. Between prepping the groups, marketing, filling spots, running these visits, and handling documentation—on top of her 1:1 patient care—she's often left exhausted and "breathes a sigh of relief when the day is over." She has tried training colleagues who expressed interested in group care. But, they quickly felt disoriented and burnt out, struggling to balance this new model with traditional patient care. She said she just doesn't think she can keep it up and is thinking of scrapping the program for 2025. This is exactly why we’re building Systole Health—to help health systems and practices leverage the power of group care without the stress and operational complexity. Our model handles the logistics so providers can focus on what they do best: caring for patients. If you work in healthcare and see the potential for group care but struggle to implement it, let’s talk. We’re here to make it easier. #HealthcareInnovation #GroupCare #VirtualCare #WomensHealth #CardiometabolicHealth #HeartHealth

🔃⏸💟 Sharing is the NEW Caring ❤ In the realm of healthcare, the significance of acknowledging and tending to the emotional well-being of patients cannot be overstated. Beyond the physical ailments, a patient's mental and emotional state plays a pivotal role in their overall health and recovery journey. One crucial aspect is fostering open communication. Actively listen to patients, encourage them to express their thoughts, concerns, and fears. This not only builds trust but also provides healthcare providers with valuable insights into the holistic needs of the individual. Empathy is another cornerstone. Understanding and resonating with the emotions of patients create a connection that goes beyond the clinical setting. It's about acknowledging their struggles, validating their feelings, and showing that healthcare is not just a transaction but a partnership in well-being. Creating a supportive environment is equally essential. From the physical setup of healthcare facilities to the attitudes of healthcare professionals, every element should exude warmth and understanding. This contributes significantly to reducing anxiety levels and promoting a sense of security, fostering a conducive atmosphere for healing. Incorporating these elements into healthcare practices not only addresses emotional well-being but also enhances the overall patient experience. A patient who feels heard, understood, and supported is more likely to actively participate in their treatment plan, leading to improved outcomes and a more positive healthcare journey. #medicaldevices #healthcareprofessionals #healthcareleaders #dental 🦷
