Although molecular dynamics is a powerful tool to analyze material nature in nanoscale, it is not so easy to access larger length and time scale. Using a coarse-grained model, you can treat several 10 nm scale and micro second order phenomena. In this approach, several atoms are represented as a single particle, and it can be applied to phenomena on larger space and time scales than full-atom molecular dynamics.
