TRESU is taking climate action to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C. TRESU has committed to set near-term company-wide emission reductions as well as a Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Net-Zero Standard commitment in line with climate science with the SBTi. https://lnkd.in/e2J2vsHf #globaltemperatures #climateaction

How Close Are We to the Climate’s Point of No Return? Researchers highlight the severe risks of destabilizing Earth’s tipping elements like ice sheets and ocean currents due to climate change, emphasizing the need to maintain the 1.5 °C limit set by the Paris Agreement to avoid dire future consequences. Failure to adhere to these limits increases the likelihood of tipping events, which are significant changes that could impact global climate stability for centuries - https://lnkd.in/gjcqq7Q5 #climatechange

Carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) is not just 'pie in the sky and it could play a crucial role in battling climate change. However, as experts reveal, it may be a little too soon to bet the farm (let alone the planet) on this emerging technology just yet.

Estimated upper boundary seems low. Getting consensus among scientists often means accepting the lowest value as guidance rsther than the midpoint of a range. #RSL #risingseas Rising Seas Institute John Englander Ralph Rayner Stephen Hall Global sea levels could rise as much as 1.2 metres (4 feet) by 2300 even if we meet the 2015 Paris climate goals, scientists have warned. https://lnkd.in/ezwx4jfb

Very enlightening statement about the EU being "Ground Zero" for Climate Change as we are seeing the 2 Degree Celsius increase that scientists have been warning about for years. This is reality. Fossil fuel emissions are not being curbed at the rate necessary to impact our rising temperatures. Rising temperatures continue melting artic and Antarctic ice, which has helped to stabilize weather across the globe. Permafrost containing organic materials melt and release further emissions into the atmosphere. Human made climate change can be reversed, but it has to begin now. It takes recognition and alteration of our current processes and ways of life. https://lnkd.in/g2a8tPzV #green #climatechange #fossilfuels #sustainability #europe #circulareconomy

Point # 3 Self-Organizing This blog is to discuss Point # 3 of Places to Intervene in the System paper by Dona Meadows (written in1996) and reflect on the current times challenge with climate change and nature degradation. It also offers hope that we would evolve a new world order to address this challenge. https://lnkd.in/eSyx6A5Q
