Help us welcome our new Facility Services Manager, Ryan Emery!
📣 I am excited to join Bryan Construction as the Facility Services Manager for our Fort Collins Group. I have extensive experience working as a general contractor in locations across Colorado, but most recently, I worked as a project manager in Northern Colorado. Over the course of my career, I have worked on a wide variety of projects, including hospitality, multi-family, tenant finishes, and remodels.
I have been in Colorado since 04’ and like to spend most of my free time adventuring with my son! We like to ride ATVs and horses and have recently been spending our weekends boating and fishing at Horsetooth.
Here is some of the feedback received since we delivered our January reports to our clients 😄
🌟 "XXXXX Court is looking fantastic. Thank you to you and the team, for all their hard work at this property!.
🌟 "Thank you, the grounds are looking so much better already, the photos are great, overall, this is a huge improvement."
🌟 "I really do appreciate your reports that you generate. I wish all contractors would do this. The grounds look great!"
🌟"Looking fantastic as always"
Many of our clients are #propertymanagement or #facilitiesmanagement companies who are not based at the sites where we carry out services for them.
✍ The reporting element of our service that all our clients receive is even more important for them.
📸 We take before and after photos of works completed across each visit, these are then compiled into a report which is delivered monthly.
☀ Yes we all love the big dramatic makeover photos, but many photos included are the standard maintenance visits that keep our client sites looking great and staying safe!
🔍 The level of attention to detail is sometimes not even noticeable to the untrained eye. But that’s the point - grounds should be constantly maintained, whether it’s mowing the lawns, weed management, hedge management or litter picking.
✅ Providing a report adds value to our service, helps exceed expectation and reassures client contacts who not local to the site that we are taking good care of the grounds.
🤳 Whether it’s tickling over hedges and shrubs or removing those fast growing weeds - we document it!
📅 It’s also a great monthly bookmark to review with our clients on the progress made throughout the seasons.
We’d love to help more clients manage their grounds by providing this service.

🌟 Associate Spotlight - Meet Brock Breedlove
Brock Breedlove is an Area Construction Manager with extensive experience in the construction industry. Having joined Lennar in March 2016, he brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to his role. Brock's journey into construction began at the age of 19 when he found himself captivated by the process of building homes while working for a landscaping company. His fascination led him to shadow a friend who owned a framing company, eventually securing a position with a local builder at just 20 years old. Despite facing setbacks during the economic downturn of 2008, Brock's determination and passion for construction led him back to the industry in 2016 when he joined CalAtlantic Homes, now part of Lennar. Since then, he has dedicated himself to his craft, earning accolades such as the Elite Core Award in 2017 and the MVP Award in 2022.
For Brock, the driving force behind his success is the strength of his team. He firmly believes in the power of collaboration and values the support of his colleagues. His favorite quote, "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail" by Ralph Waldo Emerson, reflects his adventurous spirit and willingness to take on new challenges.
Outside of work, Brock enjoys spending quality time with his family and exploring the outdoors. His hobbies include deer and bird hunting, activities that allow him to unwind and connect with nature. Married to his wife Christy for 8 years, Brock cherishes the time spent with their two daughters, Adaleigh and Leila, as well as their beloved family dog, Finn. Additionally, Brock is actively involved in his community through his service at First Baptist Church Monroe, where he serves on the A/V team and as Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee.

Hard work, Productivity, and Self-Reliance...
The same values that built and sustained this great structure for the first 100 years will be the same that will allow it to endure the next 100 years. These are the values of the proposed state of Deseret, which would eventually become the State of Utah. These are also values that, not-so-coincidentally, are fundamental to our work and mission at Intermark Steel. As such, we are thrilled to participate in the preservation of one of the State’s most historical buildings, the Joseph Smith Memorial Building (formerly called the Hotel Utah).
As we prepare to assist Okland Construction with the building maintenance, including seismic upgrades, new stairs, and new finishes, we have taken some time to look into the history of this great building:
The name Deseret means honeybee, a symbol often represented in the early architecture of Salt Lake City; a city that stands as a testament of our forefathers' cooperative and dedicated efforts. Today, it is the thriving economic and political center of the Intermountain west, but it was built up from a remote, unwanted, unproductive expanse of land adjacent to the Great Salt Lake.
In 1909, a group of business and ecclesiastical leaders proposed to build a 10-story grand hotel at the heart of the city. The Hotel Utah was recognized as the finest hotel from Chicago to Los Angeles and hosted famous entertainers, industrialists, and even U.S. Presidents. The hotel was a symbol of industry and modernization during a time of Western expansion. In 1993, after the hotel was no longer considered a viable business, it was remodeled and repurposed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was renamed the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and has served the public with several restaurants, reception, banquet, and offices.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to preserve this building and its history! Follow us for the latest project updates and thoughts on the industry!

[Our own way 🙌] Acting for the community 🚢
Sully-Miller Contracting Co., a California-based Colas company, recently completed the Port of Los Angeles’ Wilmington Waterfront Promenade! Los Angeles has been working to revitalize the Wilmington neighborhood near the port for years. This waterfront park features a number of new amenities for the local community and is part of the city’s larger redevelopment program.
Some notable features of the project:
-Built on a 30-acre (around 12 hectares) brownfield site,
-Required major earthworks to create a hill,
-Involved the relocation of a road that now circles the park,
-Included the construction of a pier, a playground and docks, in addition to a restroom facility built within the hillside featuring a “living roof” that reduces the overall hardscape footprint of the site while adding to its aesthetics.
Of particular note, because the construction took place on the waterfront, teams had to adapt their schedules to the ocean tides to prevent the underground works from being flooded. This required extra planning and coordination. 💪
Check out photos of the completed project below.
