Today begins a new chapter! But before I post my new role, I wanted to take a minute to reflect on the last several months of my job search and unemployment (and the Green Banner of Controversy). Honestly it was the first time in my career that I’ve been unemployed and it was a humbling experience. The biggest lesson I learned was humility - after years of success and great results, I didn’t think it would take that long for me to land my next role. I wasn’t worried. Week after week went by and I began to realize that things weren’t as easy as I had originally planned. I had some tough conversations with myself and others who I now am lucky to call my friends. I also learned the power of networking. I had a lot of great conversations with people who were also in the same position of looking or had been in this position recently and wanted to offer their help. I believe there are a lot of people willing to help those looking because we (I can now include myself) have been there and know how difficult it is. To the people who reached out to offer help, advice, send jobs, make intro’s or simply rooting for me (and others) - I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will forever be indebted to you and I will pay it forward and always happy to help you in anyway should the situation arise. To those still looking, keep your head up. I know it’s stressful and tiresome but you have to keep going. I fully believe that making a schedule is the best way to go otherwise you will burn out in a short timeframe and lose effectiveness. I will be sharing all of the sites, advice and any tools/resources that will help you in the coming weeks so stay tuned - I did not create the content, I simply have saved it and want to share. I have not gotten the response I was hoping from job seekers who would like to be highlighted but I will leave the link open for those who may have missed or simply haven’t had the time. Here it is again for you to complete the template and I will highlight job seekers every Tuesday (I’d love to have 1 every hour) based on what comes in. Now for the new role ……… 👇 Keep 📜 Check back this afternoon as I will announce it then! (Hey I have to keep the views up as I shift back to posting my regular content)
So happy you found something, worth celebrating. I would love to post for highlight but which link are you speaking of, I got this through someone in my network commenting but don't see original post you mention. I will follow you so I can find this elusive link lol and to keep watch as you transition to content posting and enjoy your new chapter.
Thank you for sharing this Bryan. I don’t see the template posted here but would be happy to complete it if you will direct me to it. *** I scrolled through your posts and found the template. Thank you!
Thrilled you found something! Best of luck as you start your new job and to everyone out there searching #keepgoing 💯 also please make sure you are also vetting your jobs as much as you can when you apply. Check out reviews on indeed, Glassdoor, Facebook. Everywhere. I have had some tough lessons so far that I plan to avoid as I keep my search going in 2024 🚀
In this day and age of “job hunting” I suggest that you pursue a side hustle that you can work into your job search. My “hobby” of photography turned into a job + side hustle over 12 years ago. Am I rich? Don’t want to be. Am I making it and not stressing about another job? Yes & No. We all have to remember who’s in control. Not us. Certainly not TA. It’s the BIG MAN 👆 #truthbetold
Absolutely love this post, Bryan! Appreciate the honesty and vulnerability. Congratulations on the new role! This 💯 resonates deeply with the challenges and triumphs many of us encounter throughout our careers. The significance of community in the job search cannot be overstated. The collective support, shared experiences, and diverse perspectives often serve as guiding lights in navigating career transitions- it's nice to feel like you're not alone. A resource I have been using and adore is called Pay Forward Coaching. It's an amazing community of brilliant people and it's 100% free! Their Career Advisors have all had the benefit of mentorship in their careers, and are eager to 'pay it forward' to others. If you know someone looking to find that new role or get a promotion, strategize on their career path, optimize their resume, discuss specific workplace challenges, or just get advice on any career topic, definitely check them out. Once again, congratulations on your new role, and thank you for sharing your story, a true testament to the power of collective generosity and support in fostering professional growth and success.
I am over the moon! Hard work pays off! Incredible person, employee, leader! I will 100% support your efforts as you know the grind is real! #jobseekersupport #toptalent #collaboration
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your journey. Your posts were always filled with optimism and hope. Even while you searched, you consistently promoted others and shared opportunities - This is what leadership truly looks like.
A very heartfelt post, thank you for sharing.
I’m excited for you and so happy you found a new role. Congratulations indeed. Looking forward to hearing about your new role and of course please continue to share your insights and tips etc. We are all paying attention.
