More and more confectionary companies around the world are fitting “Rotalube” to lubricate chains. The recent feedback from one customer- is excellent. One main reason for using Rotalube was to help reduce consumer complaints. After the introduction of a “Rotalube” in 2012 by a well-known Chocolate manufacturer states that it is now best practice for them to use “Rotalube” on all chocolate moulding lines around the world for the following reasons. · Chain Life – Moulding Line chains normally last 7 to 8 years and chain replacement is estimated to be $100K + so chain life extension has had a big impact on return on investment. With Rotalube we have seen chain life extended by 3 to 4 years. · Lubricant consumption- The old lubrication systems were feeding oil to the chains via brushes or by drip / spit . These systems over lubricated the chains by covering the complete chain with oil. Due to the accuracy the Rotalube system a reduction in oil usage was noted in some cases up to 30 to 40% which not only has had a cost benefit is also better for the environment. · Customer Complaints- Over lubrication from the old system resulted in the oil mixing with chocolate and dust making a black substances called “Blec” . The “Blec” adhered itself to the chain and if not regularly cleaned would build up and fall onto the product resulting in Customer complaints. The “Blec” was a problem for the manufacturer’s reputation. The introduction of the Rotalube system and other site improvements resulted in an 86% reduction in consumer complaints. For further information on Rotalube you can visit our website www.rotalube.com or you can contact me directly.

Pack it, wrap it, or bag it... The 03 part of a 15-article series on packaging. Packaging isn't one-size-fits-all – it's like clothes tailored to fit different needs! When it comes to food vs. non-food items, food packaging is all about keeping things fresh and safe to eat. Think sealed bags for chips or boxes for cereal. Non-food items, on the other hand, focus more on protection and presentation, like fancy boxes for electronics or bubble wrap for fragile stuff. Then there's consumer packaging versus industrial packaging. Consumer packaging is what you see on the store shelf – it's all about catching your eye and telling you what's inside. Industrial packaging is more about bulk and durability, like big crates for shipping multiple items at once. Whether it's your favorite snack or a new gadget, there's a perfect package for everything! #packaging #basics Pic credit: Internet

Who said that? Just kidding. Was really surprised when I first read the news about Amazon extending subscribe and save to seller fulfilled orders. But, actually, it makes a lot of sense. For obvious reasons, Amazon has always prioritised FBA products...FBA fees & control of the logistics / customer service. However, there are use cases where seller fulfilled makes sense. As an example, I've noticed this for a raw dog food product that needs to be frozen. This is obviously a subscribeworthy product, but couldn't qualify for subscribe and save through FBA because the warehouses don't have freezers. It sits outside of Amazon's business model. The brand, however does have freezers. Now, they can enjoy the benefits of subscribe & save too. It's a win-win. Amazon gets their fee for every order, the brand gets repeat purchases. Common sense wins. #amazonbusiness #amazonstrategy #amazonmarketing #amazonfba #fordebaker
If your brand's products are subscribe-worthy and you're seller fulfilled you can now benefit from the increased revenue per customer and brand loyalty that subscribe and save offers. What type of products will benefit ☑ Meltable e.g. chocolate ☑ Raw and frozen ☑ Temperature controlled e.g. eye drops ☑ Products that are considered dangerous goods e.g. aerosols

“Clean label washing” is a remarkably successful strategy in CPG. Here’s how it works… A sauce or bar or hydration mix or iced tea or whatever a company is selling has: → a pleasant pastel-colored aesthetic → a bunch of seals and certifications → pronounceable ingredients (perhaps even organic ones) Meanwhile it has an *absurd* amount of sugar. Thus making it taste phenomenal. Many label washers use “cane sugar” or “honey” or “no ADDED sugar” to throw you off their scent. It all breaks down into the same blood glucose, but it looks so darn pure and well-intentioned! Most consumers don’t even notice the sugar count - they’re sold by the cool package design and simple ingredients and are late to their kid’s soccer practice. So, so many multi-hundred-million dollar “better for you” brands are built this way. #cleanlabelwashing
